Make Up For Ever's Make Up Bag Remix Tour is Coming to Shake Up Your Make Up!

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of hopping on Make Up For Ever’s “Make Up Bag Remix” tour bus to get a free consultation of my makeup bag.

The Grove in Los Angeles was the first stop on their nationwide beauty education tour, a new initiative designed to educate people about products (even products that aren’t Make Up For Ever!) and how to properly use them.

Their angle: people bring in their existing makeup bag, however disorganized it may be, and a professional makeup artist breaks it down. What can you add, subtract, or replace in your makeup bag so that you can achieve your optimum beauty potential? Come on board and find out.

In the waiting area, they had me fill out a face chart and write down the different products I normally use. I have to be honest—I was a little embarrassed of my “makeup bag,” which is basically a mess of products jangling around in my purse: mascara, eyeliner, shimmery eyeshadow, a compact of powder, and about 18 different colors of lipstick.

But nevertheless, I had a GREAT time on the bus. I was matched up with makeup artist Genoa Norris, who poked through my bag and asked me questions about how I use my makeup, and quickly discovered that I loved lipstick.

I received some easy and helpful tricks on quick, foundation application, and a very helpful lesson on lip liner.

She used a lot of my own products, but whatever I didn’t have, she supplemented with Make Up For Ever products that felt good, lasted all day, and looked great.

It was more than just a makeover. Highly interactive and informative, I came away from the Makeup Bag Remix bus knowing more about how to use the products I own, while falling in love with some new products that I hadn't known how to use.

(Face: Pro Finish #120 with Shine On #3 for highlight. Eyes: Fluorescent Green Satiny Eye Shadow with few drops of Aqua Seal. Lips: lip liner #18C as base, #16C for definition, and Genoa's own special mixture of Flash Color)

I also had the chance to speak with Make Up For Ever's director about their new items such as their limited edition makeup bag they created in collaboration with Christina Ricci, and the Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation.

And here's the cherry on top of the tour: After my consultation, I was invited to the roof, where they had tons of delicious Dylan's Candy waiting to be eaten.

They also had a jewelry table filled with various styles of necklaces and bracelets that people were welcome to wear to glam up for their photobooth. This one made it to their Wall of Fame!!

Check them out when they come visit your town!
