Pushing the boundaries with almost S &M leather creations, covetable classics like the Nightingale and Pandora handbags, as well as celebrity must-haves (Kanye West and the alsation jumper anyone?), designer Ricardo Tisci reinvented Givenchy to be the super cool label we all have to have right now. While he's long been praised as the fashion world's darling, Ricardo's now here to seduce us with a scent. Dahlia Noir, his first fragrance for Givenchy, not only looks and sounds subtly seductive, but also was named after the black dahlia, a sharp and sensual flower. Described as "couture fragrance," this scent contains notes of rose, iris, sandalwood and patchouli, so it's a little floral but with a rich smoky undertone. Ricardo describes it as "something that's romantic and powerful at first, then sharp and sensual." In creating the final fragrance, he even sought feedback from his eight sisters and mother, and looked to the Givenchy archives for inspiration for the bottle.
Dahlia Noir will be available in Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus on August 7th.
