We Can’t Get Enough Of Tarte’s Latest Collection!

509

There’s so much to love about today’s eco-chic beauty offerings, especially those from Tarte Cosmetics. Known for high-end, natural makeup for more than a decade, Tarte just released its spring 2014 collection, which is just as amazing as we’d hoped! Here are two standouts. (As usual, the products are made without parabens, phthalates, triclosan, SLS, gluten, and mineral oil.)

Cheek Stain Vault | $150

A cylindrical box designed to resemble an oversized version of Tarte’s award-winning cheek stains that doubles as a jewelry box—so smart! The “vault” opens like a book and houses eight full-size cheek stains, one in every available color. And when you lift out the products, you’ll see hooks installed along the top for hanging necklaces and pull-out drawers at the bottom for earrings, rings, and other smaller pieces. So you get a great storage solution and a near-lifetime supply of cheek color (each is 0.5 ounces, and lasts forever—if you’ve ever owned a Tarte cheek stain, you’ll know what we mean!). For 2014, the outer packaging has been reimagined in colorful prints, versus the original solid pink, but what we all love about the product has stayed the same: an easy to swipe on, push-up stick design, and an easily blendable, melts-into-skin gel or cream formula (you get four of each). There’s one brand new color, Fearless, an orange-y pink that leaves the prettiest, subtle flush on cheeks or lips. And if you’re not ready to commit to all eight, you can pick up any of the redesigned stains individually for $30 apiece.

LipSurgence Power Pigment | $24 each

Given that we’ve been long-time fans of the Lip Tints from Tarte’s LipSurgence range, we were highly anticipating this new addition. No disappointments here! Like the originals, these pencils have a twist-to-sharpen design and pleasant minty scent. The difference is, as the name suggests, is in the color payoff—the Power Pigments give you opacity comparable to a lipstick (versus a hint of tint). The other major difference is the texture. In this product, it’s similar to a cream eye pencil—soft and smooth, it virtually glides onto lips thanks to carnauba wax, an emollient taken from the leaves of a carnauba palm. We’re loving the skinny pencil shape because it lets you outline and shade in lips with no mishaps (key with a more pigmented lippie). There are eight total shades ranging from coral to neutral to pink, all of which coordinate directly with the redesigned cheek stains, cute print packaging included. While you can use the cheek stains on lips, they won’t give you the same opaqueness and punch of the Power Pigments. If you’re really in love with one of the shades, we highly suggest picking up the matching duo. Our favorite is “Flush,” which looks dark purple-fuschia and transforms into the perfect berry shade on.
