The New Romantics: Too Faced Does It Again
Published Jan 26, 2013
When Too Faced comes out with a new launch, you can bet Beautylish will be there to catch a first glimpse. The premiere of our favorite forward-thinking cosmetics brand’s Spring 2013 line Boudoir Beauty took place atop the Nomad Hotel in NYC where guests were treated to decadent sweets and treats (and some of the richest chocolate cookies we’ve ever had) while enjoying a rooftop view of the city, not to mention trays upon trays of brand new Too Faced products.
This was all to introduce Too Faced’s new Boudoir line — a sexy and seductive, yet fresh and perky set of cosmetics. Think sultry eyes and balmy berry lips with dewy skin and sweet pink cheeks. Concept in mind, it seems that creator Jerrod Blandino wanted to focus on the racy, fresh, candid aspects of a bedroom beauty.
Boudoir Eyes is a nine shade shadow kit that creates soft and smokey eyes for the bedroom and beyond. On the flip side, the No Makeup Makeup palette is designed to give you a truly natural look by way of concealer, luminizer, brightener, a powder bronzer, and two pink blushes which blend seamlessly to create a barely there, flawless finish. Both sets come with a booklet of "ways to wear" tips, complete with diagrams and photos that are easy and helpful for even the freshest of makeup mavens.
Little did we know, Blandino was just getting started! The Boudoir line also contains berry-themed La Creme lipsticks that are lush and subtle. The formula is creamy and succulent. The shades look natural on a nude face and help balance out a heavy eye look. With the new matching lip liner in Perfect Berry, we can't wait to rock a sexy and hydrated perfect pout all Spring.
We were also pleased to find an old standard, Too Faced's plumping gloss Lip Injection, in a new sleek tube for 2013. A little change never hurt anyone. But just to say: the best selling, plumping formula remains the same.
We were also dazzled by an array of BB Creams in new shades, plus a new formula called “Air Buffed BB Creme” — a palm-sized jar with a foundation brush built into the lid. This turns out to be a stylish innovation on a BB, with heavier coverage that still feels weightless.
Our favorite packaging in the collection was easily the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush— a baked, peachy-pink striped formula packed into an easy-to-tote heart-shaped candy box. The pink hues swirl together to create a shade that flatters any skin tone. Finally, a product that looks as good on our faces as it does on our nightstand!
Too Faced has once again dazzled us with a delicious collection. Look for all these products and more come Spring!
