New York Fashion Week, Fall 2011: MAC at DVF

In the makeup design, makeup artist James Kaliardos wanted to evoke a strong and empowered modern woman. “Think Gloria Vanderbilt and Diana Vreeland…” says Kaliardos, “she’s an independent American woman, well put together with panache…she’s glamorous, but anyone can do this.”
He blended MAC Studio Finish concealer where needed fo a natural finish on skin, and swept MAC Sculpting Powder in ‘Pro Bone/Beige’ under cheekbones for the perfect contour. Kaliardos blended MAC Cream Color Base in ‘Seaside’ (available autumn/winter 2011) above cheekbones for a luminescent highlight.
Kaliardos applied MAC Pro Longwear Eye Shadow in ‘Keep Your Cool’ as a smoky liner through the outer upper and lower lash line, elongating the eyes with a lift. He then applied MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15 along the waterline of the lower lashes for a brightening effect.
