Beauty Product Reviews

Amazing Product

Oily girl here and was hesitant about adding more moisture to my face. I have to say that this product is amazing. The oil production is down, my pores appear smaller and the overall look of my skin has improved. Will definitely repurchase!

Illuminating Effect is Perfect!!

I received a nice size sample of this foundation from Sephora and have been using it for about a week now. I am really surprised to say that I really like it a lot. I tend to stay away from foundations that says Illuminating, Glowy, etc., because I have combo/oily skin and don't want to look like a big greaseball!

The coverage is light to medium but is definitely buildable if you want more. The product goes on pretty smoothly and the illuminating effect is subtle in my opinion. I'd say it's more of a healthy glow and is perfect for someone with my skin type.

As far as lasting power; I think it does a good job. I still have product on my face at the end of the day, and I'm happy with that. I do have to blot 1-2x per day, but that is typical with me with any foundation.

Overall, I'm really pleased with the sample. I think I need to go 1 shade darker for a perfect match, but the 50 watts works okay right now. Once I'm done with my 50 other foundations (joking), I think I will buy a full size bottle of this. I think it would be perfect for the winter!

I'm just kinda "Meh" when it comes to this foundation. While I like it, I think it's overpriced and I feel that you can get the same or better results with other foundations on the market that cost less. When the foundation was first introduced to the market, everyone raved about how great it was/is, so I went out and purchased it of course. It does give you great coverage and it does feel light, so I do love that about it; however, I don't feel that it's worth $40.

I've been wearing this blush for over a week now and abolutely love it. I have three shades - Blissful, Amused and Peaceful (QVC exclusive maybe??)! They are gorgeous and really do last a LONG time. My blush normally fades throughout the day, but I don't have any problems with this one. It stays put even with my combo-oily skin! I think I may have found my HG Blush!!

I love that these blushes are free of harmful ingredients and are cruelty free! Cruelty free - Very important to me.

Don't Waste Your Money

I received a sample of this mascara and was so excited to try it. With the name BadGal, I thought I was going to be sporting some fierce lashes after applying this mascara. Um...no that was not the case at all! This did absolutely nothing for my lashes. Nothing at all. There was no lengthening, volume, etc. Additionally, it dried out pretty quickly. Seriously, save your money ladies and gents! Team Drugstore Mascara all the way! HA!

What can I say? This is one amazing brush and I now own several of them. I own many more expensive, high end brushes, but find that my handy dandy ELF brush is just as good as the high end brushes.

I find that the brush picks up a good amount of color and applies the color on the lid really well; After washing, the brush retains its shape; there is no shedding AND did I mention, it's only $1!!? You can get like 20 or more of these for the cost of 1 MAC brush.

I've been using this foundation off and on for several years now. It's definitely my go to foundation in the summer. I love that it's (a) light on my skin; (b)provides the coverage I need (for the most part) and that (c) it's not super expensive. What I don't like is that (a) if you put on a little too much by accident (even after tapping the brush), it's hard to blend out AND my face ends up looking like it's dirty. It looks like I have some sort of grayish tint on my face; (b) because of the SPF, it does not photograph well, but that's not a big deal. I can always use a different foundation when I take pictures; and (c) even though it gives me the coverage I need; it doesn't last as long as I'd like it to. Maybe I need to use some sort of powder over it??

This brush is God's Gift to Makeup Brushes. Well, in my opinion it is. I always hear that if you're going to buy one makeup brush, it should be the MAC 217 (or a dupe of it) and I think that is true. You can create a whole eye look with just this one brush.

I use mine everyday! Most of the time I use it for crease work. It's amazing! It picks up a great amount of color; blends so well; and if taken care of properly; will last you a lifetime. I've had one brush now for 8 years and it's going strong. The other one, I've had for 3 years.

Highly recommended

This is a great palette! It's affordable and has a variety of shades. The quality is definitely good. I recommend this to everyone!

I own the matte/satin palette and love it! I typically don't wear too many bold looks, but when I do, I normally turn to this palette for that pop of color.

Psst...you can find this for a lot cheaper on Ebay! Just sayin...

I know not everyone has an enormous budget for beauty products and often you think if you pay more, you'll get a better product. That is not always true. NYX is a perfect example of that. NYX is a very affordable makeup brand and I am really impressed with their shadows. They have a variety of colors, finishes and the pigmentation is pretty amazing considering you only pay a few bucks per shadow.

Of course with any brand, you'll have some shadows that won't work as great as others, and that is also true with NYX shadows. Some are not as pigmented; some may be too frosty, some many not blend well, etc. Overall, for the price, I am very impressed.
