Coconut water is everywhere these days. On the streets, in magazines, Rihanna is even promoting it! But how beneficial is it to your health and skin? We spoke to some experts about the benefits of coconut water and whether it's worth the switch.
We consulted nutrition and skin care expert Dr. Nicholas Perricone about coconut water and according to him, this tropical elixir has multiple benefits for your skin. "It's rich in mineral salts and is the ideal antidote to parched, stressed skin. Coconut water rehydrates while normalizing combination skin and is anti-microbial and anti-fungal, which will give you a radiant, clean, and clear complexion." It's also a great drink for exercising, says wellness expert Dr. Frank Lipman. "Coconut water is rich in a host of minerals, including potassium, manganese, calcium and magnesium, so it is great to drink post-workout to replace both your fluids and electrolytes. It’s a much healthier version of Gatorade or any of the sports drinks as it is low in sugar and full of electrolytes. I also love using coconut water in a smoothie instead of water." It can be too much of a good thing though. "I would not recommend more than two bottles a day. People should not drink it as if it is regular water," says Dr. Lipman
So Beauties, we leave it up to you! Do you love coconut water too?

I've tried coconut water.. but I cannot drink it alone. I like it mix it with either Crystal light or a juice simply because I find the taste hard to stomach. It's just too bitter for me..

I tried the Naked juice version the other day and it tasted terrible! I can't deal with it; I'll just drink water and get my minerals and electrolytes in other ways.

I mix my coconut water with smart water and sip it throughout the day. I normally hate water so this match has been super helpful for my water intake. :)

Funny how coconut water is "trendy", I've been drinking it since I was a toddler (my mother used to crack open a coconut and I was the only one of the kids who would run and grab that glass of cloudy water lol) and so has my daughter (she's 20 now). Coconut water is our choice of "soft drink" since we rarely drink any type of soda. Our favorites are the ones that have the pulp it in....so delicious. Two thumbs way up for coconut water!
