Loathe or Love: Color Changing Glitter Polish

  • 59

I've never been much of a glitter girl, but there's something about the science of a changing color that gets me. So I was very excited to try Blaze's new glitter color-changing nail polish, especially when I got a sneak peek of their new colors—Glitz on Madison. With one coat, I got a hint of sparkle, enough to use over another color. However, with more coats, a very condensed, thick coat of color appeared, almost like a highly pigmented glitter wrapping paper.

The real test was looking at it in sunlight. The trick is to keep your fingers in the light for a few minutes, as the color change won't happen instantly. (And don’t make the mistake I made by applying a topcoat that blocks UV rays. This stops the particles from reacting with the sun, so you won’t see any color change.) After keeping my fingers in direct sunlight for a few minutes, the color slowly turned darker, to a deeper purple. And when I moved back into the shade, it went light again. This is definitely a fun look to try out and a wonderful conversation starter. What do you think, Beauties, will you be applying a coat? Vote in our poll and tell us if you love or loathe this look.
