Beauty Product Reviews

Lot's of lashes and separation, volume, and a okay mascara formula.

I used this years ago, and bought again recently because I wanted something that I knew gave me lots of lashes, and was waterproof. The formula seems to have remained the same, and the brush hangs on to ever single lash, allowing me to have a more dramatic eye. However, I found that Maybelline's new Volum' Express Mega Plush is basically the same mascara, with a better formula that literally glides on to the lashes.

Clumpy, no volume, sticky lashes.

My sister bought this thinking it would make her long lashes really stand out. Instead, it made her lashes look sticky, and gave her no separation and volume. She thought that maybe it was just her, and her application process, so I tried it. I got the same results. This mascara is just flakey, and has no staying power. If you want volume and separation, I would suggest the Mega Plush mascara by Maybelline instead. I bought it today, and I absolutely adore it. (It's very comparable to the Cover Girl Lash Blast line.)

Never creases, allows my eyeshadow to stay heavily pigmented, awesome product.

I have been hooked since I was introduced to this in Sephora. The Sales Associate noticed that I loved using bright pink and lime green, but that I had trouble with color payoff, and longevity. She recommended this, and I've been using it ever since. I miss the old packaging, with the angled brush, but I don't mind the new bottle as it allows you to control the amount of product you get. This formula though, is absolutely amazing. It does not budge! I've accidentally slept in this before, and woken up with very little smudging. I've never tried the other shades, as I prefer to not add any type of color or shimmer base to my shadow look.

I've highly recommended this for years, and consistently buy, despite the price. Furthermore, Urban Decay is cruelty free, which makes me want to support them even more!

FANTASTIC! A perfect once a week deep conditioner!

Absolutely adore this product; really helps your hair feel silky and smooth, combats damage, and really delivers moisture to parched hair! I usually try to use this once a week, maybe every two weeks, to combat the heat damage I do to my hair. I have been using this for years, and this has never made my hair greasy. They also have a deep conditioner called "Sydney Straight" that I recommend to anyone who has slightly wavy that wants to make it straighter. I use this, and then finger brush my hair, and the result is frizzless, straight, gorgeous hair. I cannot recommend these 3 minute deep conditioners enough.

Great concealer stick! Blended well.

Used this concealer stick awhile ago, but loved it. Covered well, blended marvelously, and gave medium to full coverage. I used it when my acne was very bad, and it did not irritate my skin or make my breakouts worse. The skin tone matched mine well, and it did not feel too heavy or look caky. I would recommend this to a friend, and would use it now if I needed to!

Removes makeup well, but pricey for my taste.

I used this makeup remover for a long time before discovering that Target's Up&Up brand had a toilet that pretty much does everything this does, with a more cloth like texture, for half the price.

These wipes remove all sorts of makeup, including waterproof, and are pretty gentle on the skin. They didn't leave my skin feeling greasy, or dried out, which is nice as well. They're a nice makeup removing cloth, but for $6.99 at Target, not worth the price. If you like this, I would encourage you to try the Up&Up alternative, I have really enjoyed those more, and are about $3.59.

Absolute must buy.

I've been using this for six years now, and have never once had a compliant about this product. It smells fantastic, and as long as you make sure your hair is at least 60%-80% dry, it will work like a dream. This greatly reduces frizz, adds shine, and helps with hair drying time. My hair is long, somewhat thick, and color treated, so this product really helps in terms of frizz and adds a great sheen to my color. I highly recommend this to all my friends, even though a large bottle can be expensive. I paid about $30 for mine, but I've been using it for about a year and three months, and it's still about half way full. The amount of product one uses with this serum is crucial; too much serum will leave your hair feeling greasy, while too little won't have the desired affect. I usually use just one pump!

This is a hair product I see myself using for as long as it's in production.

Blends well, fits skin tone, great finish!

My sister started using this, and raved about it, so I thought I would give it a try. The pigment definitely fits my skin tone, but I'm not sure that it caters to all skin tones. It gives a great finish (matte), and does not feel heavy on the skin, but it should probably be set if you want it to really stay; I find that it comes off pretty easily. For the price, it's not a bad pressed powder; I'm new to using powders, and I'm very happy with the results. My sister has been using powders longer than I have, and she is absolutely hooked, which has convinced me of it's quality. Furthermore, my sister is very fair and has had a lot of success in having it match her skin tone; often times she finds that things that are "fair" are just a shade too dark.

Overall, I would say that this pressed powder is fantastic for the price, and that if you're in the market for a new powder, give this a try!

Dewy without the sparkle, all beautiful sheen, and healthy glow.

I bought this years ago on a whim, and have been hooked ever since. Although the texture has changed a little bit, this product is absolutely my go to if I want to look dewy and fresh. It's easy to apply with either a finger or a sponge, and glides on skin without being sticky. It blends beautifully, allowing one to create a gorgeous glow on the apple's of one's cheeks, as well as applying it to the cheek bone to create the appearance of higher cheek bones. It's a perfect all over highlighter as well; I like to apply it to my brow bones, as well as down the center of my nose. I have not tried Moon beam or Sun beam, but after my experience with High beam, I would not doubt they are fantastic as well.

Clumpy, no real volume, not dramatic, okay for the price, will not purchase again.

I bought this as an impulse; my sister recommended it, and it was only $5.00ish at Target. My lashes are naturally longish, and somewhat curly, so I thought that this mascara would add some dramatic volume, as well as making them look somewhat thicker. The "Falsies" effect that I expected was separation, with a dramatic, "flared" look that made my lashes look thicker, and sexier. The effect that I experienced was anything but; the first few applications were clump city, with my lashes sticking together and ending up looking piecey and spidery, a look that I did not appreciate, or want. To make sure that my lashes did not look like this took a lot of time and careful application, making my makeup routine longer than I'd wished. WIth careful precision, and application, my lashes have a feathery natural look, with no volume. It looks cute, but very natural; the makeup look I was going for is very retro, with dark eyeliner, and dramatic lashes without having to apply fake eyelashes (think wearable pinup), so the natural look wasn't what I bought this mascara in mind for.

To continue, the wand has a flexible head, and is curved allowing you to definitely gets the small lashes, as long as you have a steady hand. The formula is not the best, I prefer their Great Lash to this formula immensely; in fact, I may clean the wand off, and use it with their Great Lash. Finally, the mascara is very wet. I layered it, and an hour later it's still somewhat wet, and clumping my lashes together. I am constantly having to separate my lashes so that my eyes feel comfortable.

In conclusion, this mascara has a great wand, but the formula is deeply lacking. Any of the claims made about this mascara definitely did not come true in my experience, and I will not purchase again.
