Yea it sucks because I love Mac products. I did a blue smokey eye today and it was with Mac's contrast and freshwater. I just love there stuff. I'm not even going to deal with those people anymore. I'll just travel an hour and half to a soho mac store.

I live in New Mexico, we have 3 MAC Stores; 1 being a stand alone store and the others inside our local malls. As far as Im concerned, they all have horrible attitudes. And half the time they arent even helpful or try to push other products you definitely dont need like bad. I love MAC and thats why I just buy online; so i dont have to deal with rude employees AND because our stores were always always out of new products. But not going into those high end stores has led me to discover some great brands out there.

I think after a while when you start buying a lot of eyeshadows you're going to hit dupes.

I live in Denver and shop at the MAC store in Cherry Creek. I love Kelly, Vanessa and the manager. Other than that most of them are rude, they act like they are superior to others. You sell makeup, you're not royalty. There's one girl at Nordstrom MAC that is always so pushy and questions the amount of stuff I buy when, a lot of times i drop about $200 at the regular store and by the time I get to her I really don't want to buy more. They need to stop being so pushy on sales.

I've only came across a few rude artists here in Las Vegas. Although I did have one time when I asked for a MSF Natural in Light and she looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Well most people here don't include the word 'natural' so I didn't know what you were talking about" and I actually told her that I'll wait to buy it from someone that doesn't seem bothered to get the product.
MAC should also hire people based on them being nice!

Wow it's sad to hear that. Here in Raleigh, nc they are so nice and helpful. I actually gave a MUA at MAC that I go to all the time. I'm sorry to hear that other places are rude

The MAC counter in West Town Mall (Knoxville, TN) is awesome. The employees are always helpful and never come off as judgmental.

I'm in the uk and the mac counters I've been to here(we don't have them everywhere) have been ok. The most helpful mac consultant I've come across was the one at London gatwick north terminal.

I live in AZ and I've had maybe 2 nice employees in my lifetime. Most of them look at me like I'm rubbish! However when I went to Pentagon City Mall in DC everybody was great!

Ha! I've long wondered if I was the only one. I've only visited a MAC boutique twice in the past two years, mostly because of repeated disappointing experiences. I usually go makeup shopping wearing only moisturizer, concealer, and lip gloss should I decide to do some testing on my face instead of forearm. This usually warrants being treated like an ignoramus by most MAC employees I've encountered. Additionally, when I decided to try a foundation on my face, the MAC employee couldn't apply liquid foundation with a brush to save her life--and I've seen some pretty rough makeup skills demonstrated by their employees so I don't feel like I can get reasonable feedback on products from most I've met. When I want a MAC product, I order online instead.

The MAC store closest to me most employees are nice but I don't really get the help I need considering so many people go and they only have about 2 people working at a time so I feel I don't really get any help when I'm there because they are too busy, but I'm in love with all their products

I went to another mac store in soho two days ago and waited to see if someone would help me. A gentlemen helped me with the stuff I wanted and I was happy.

I'm in the UK and here most of the staff are really helpful and will give you all the attention you need but only downfall is that stores are ALWAYS busy so sometimes you might have to wait awhile.

I think people in general have certain expectations from Mac artists and therefore look for either amazing customer service or to be treated rudely. It's prestigious to work at Mac so lots of ladies act that way - or - maybe it's because you expect something extra from them and don't get it - either way - all stores (whether its makeup or jewellery or shoes) have their good polite sales people and their snoots - it's a human nature thing - not a Mac thing ;)

This is very true! ^^

Yes, I agree when I went into the real mac store here the ladys were ok. But, they made me feel unwelcome and awkward (me being young they think I don't know anything about makeup). But they did talk to me like a baby. I was just happy to get out.
But when I went into Nordstrom, to go to mac the lady was so annoying. She wouldn't leave me alone, she was following me around. Asking every second what I wanted, my sister even noticed. But overall I liked going there.

Yes they are. i find that mostly at counters like Macy's they are always rude, i tend to avoid going to Mac counters because its always the same. i gave them the benefit of the doubt way to many times so I'm done with them. but MAC stores are pretty good they always help out.

I don't think going into a store and wanting a bit of respect is asking much. I'm sorry but Mac employees are not gods they're humans and I treat them like everyone else. I put this up because I wanted to see if any of you fellow beauties experienced the same thing that I went through (several times). So I'm guessing it is a Mac thing because a lot of the beauties here have had not so good to bad experience. Never judge a book by its cover. The one you think may not get you sales can be the one to make your quota. :D

I live in San Diego and I've found that they are really rude here too! Every time I go in I'm always ignored and have to wait forever until someone pays attention to me, another time I said "excuse me I have a question" to a worker and the lady turned around and yelled at me that she was busy so I immediately left the store after that rude encounter. At another store in San Diego I was just browsing around trying on stuff and I overheard a worker being completely rude to a lady that she was helping out!

OMGosh that is crazy! I would have been soooooo freakin mad!
