Yeah dude MAC customer service sucks here in Southern Cali too. Occasionally I'll get some help from a really nice girl but most of the time they are either condescending or don't give you the time of day. I am now accustomed to just going in and picking everything out myself and trying things on myself and then I walk up to the nearest employee I can find and ask them to go fetch my things so I can pay. And when I'm shopping with my friends I color match them and advise them on what to get too.

I wanted to add that i also experienced some rude MAC employees when returning or exchanging a product, this one employee said "next time don't bother buying it if your going to return it!" and sighed as if she was the owner of MAC. I told her straight up, if your saying you guys don't like products returned then change your policy!

This is so funny I was talking to one of the sephora workers today about how I was considering getting a job there in the future instead of the MAC store because every SINGLE time I go there they're rude to me and my friends and even my mom! One time I was sampling foundation and one of the ladies was helping me and she asked "are u currently using a MAC foundation" I told her no and she said "what brand, what shade" and I said "loreal true match warm 3" and she snaps "yeah that does nothing for me" like wth.. U asked, I answered

it matters who you get and where you are. everyone is different. some people have bad days and that effects them. ive been to drugstores and been treated badly so it really matters the person

Yea so far I've gotten two nice Mac employees and five nasty ones. Everyone has a bad day (We're Human) but when you encounter the same person several times and they're nasty. I think its their attitudes. When I walk into Sephora they are ready to greet and help. In Mac you have to wait a bit before someone helps you. @Rachel That's so rude. I went into Sephora and asked about foundations and the employee told me good affordable (drug store) and high end ones.

@Didi I do that sometimes and often because I get fed up with waiting I Do samples my self and they get so pissed. At sephora if I do it myself they never care! And if you want them to do it for you they don't seem to care. At MAC sometimes they're friendly or they sigh like ive ruined their day

I live in Texas, currently San Antonio and every experience i've had with MAC has been pleasant. The workers are very helpful, interested, and i think they're makeup is nicely done!

I work in cosmetics for Macy's and now MAC & I can say that I honestly understand where everyone is coming from as far as customer service. I don't wish a bad experience on anyone, and you all deserve respect. From the makeup artist point of view, believe it or not working in cosmetics can be highly stressful, from image to goals to customers putting you down. You have to have really thick skin and the willpower to stand on your feet for hours and either pretty flats or high heels, plus look perfect, sound perfect, dress perfect etc. in reality we all know that no one is perfect, but in cosmetics that doesn't matter. Especially at MAC! Theres a lot of pressure and a lot of people watching you. I think that sometimes us makeup artist get too caught up in the business that we forget about the artistry and making the woman (or man) in our chair feel beautiful. I've had my good and bad days and am not always PERFECT, I can't speak for other artist but ladies please don't take it personal and never dread going to a counter and asking a question or even walking in, swatching product or even applying for the company! I've had horrible customer service and girls turn their nose up at me and went on several interviews before I got hired. Don't let anyone stop you from loving MAC because at the end of the day the company was made for all of us xoxo

I agree, some of them are really rude :( I don't let it get to me though, they can ruin their own sales because most the time I walk into MAC, I have the intention of buying something (I like to do my research before purchasing items). The ladies in the Macy's at my local mall are really usually really busy, so I don't mind waiting to browse around & ALL of them are nice, but when I live on campus for school & go to the mall near my school, they ignore me. There can be no one in there, 3 ladies working & they will still ignore me. I'll still ask them about getting a certain item out for me when I have the intention of buying something, but you'd think they'd have common courtesy to ask if I at least need help or something. I always feel like they judge me like mad, always think they're better than everyone (don't get me wrong, this doesn't apply to everyone working there, but I would say 3/5 times I go there, there's at least ONE employee who is rude). I don't know about you, but I absolutely love makeup & I'd be HAPPY & excited to help people discover things that would compliment them or new products they will love.

I've never had a bad experience with their customer service! I go to Nordstrom & the MAC store & everyone has been pleasant, helpful, & not pushy. Also they don't try and shove their products on me...especially ones that I wasn't interested in. :)
