Anne Hathaway

Princess Grace Awards Gala, 2011

Anne Hathaway loves to play the princess (The Princess Diaries is one of our favorite movies!), and she looked like a fairytale character in an ethereal Valentino dress at the Princess Grace Awards. Celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngard was inspired by the beautiful gown and kept her hair and makeup simple to show it off, with bold red lips as the only statement.

"I wanted to create the look of a fairytale princess with a modern twist," said Hung. He began by prepping Anne's skin with La Mer Moisturizing Cream, Clinique All About Eyes, and Clinique Superbalm Lip Treatment. He then mixed a tiny bit of MAC Strobe Cream with Cle de Peau Silky Cream Foundation in O10 to apply sparingly on her face and neck. Hung eliminated any redness by applying Cle de Peau Concealer in Ivory under Anne's eyes, and around her nose.

For the eyes, Hung applied MAC Pro Longwear Eyeshadow in Sweet Satisfaction all over the eyelids and the corner of her eyes, then MAC Pro Longwear Eyeshadow in Make Your Mark all around the lash lines, focusing on the upper lash lines. To finish the eyes, he applied two coats of Lancôme Definicils Mascara in Deep Brown. For the cheeks, he applied Stila Convertible Color in Gladiola, then a tiny flush of Stila Custom Color Blush in Coral to set the cream blush. For a little extra glow, he also used Smashbox Artificial Light Powder in Frost on the apples of the cheek, cheekbones, and forehead. Anne has full gorgeous lips, so Hung applied Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Red Red Red like a stain with his finger instead a lip brush, making it more intense in the center of the lip. To finish the makeup, he powdered the t-zone with Shiseido Translucent Loose Powder.
