MAC's mineralized skinfinish natural is better quality

I used this for years and it is somewhat worth the hype, especially since it was created a couple years before there were so many mineral products on the market. My personal problem with it is that it oxidizes besides the lightest color not being light enough for my skin. There is a definite yellow undertone to all the colors so it won't look neutral. It was also caking on the sides of my nostrils and chin. It IS very good for your skin (mac mineralize doesnt claim that) but it just doesnt look as good as this new product I've found, so I must rate it down.

better than bare minerals

I've been using Bare Escentuals for about 3 years now, and recently after getting more into makeup I realized that it was oxidizing/too dark for my skin even in it's lightest shade. It was also flaking and creasing a lot. Still not ready to paint up my face with a liquid foundation, I found myself at my local MAC counter to check out this powder that I had heard rave reviews about..mostly as a setting powder, but doable as a mineral powder. The employee set my undereye area with this stuff..and the finished product was like nothing ive ever experienced. No creasing, no flaking, no caking. I immediately bought it, even though I hadnt tried it out on my face. Just because it looked that good under my eyes (something ive struggled with forever). Next night, I officially tried it for the first time with my bare minerals Flawless Face Brush, and the coverage was so much heavier than bare minerals...I would say it's absolutely high coverage, depending on what you use to apply it with. The FFB is a very dense face brush and I would dig it a little bit into the compact to get a bit more product, and then just press it into my skin...I had no need to use any primer or set it. I have combination skin and it left a beautiful velvet matte finish. The coverage is so full that it even diffused a lot of my beauty marks (even though I wasnt even trying to). I've only used it one day, so I gave it 4.5 stars but it was such a flawless experience that I cant imagine anything going wrong..fingers crossed. Amazing product.

One of the best glosses out there. Moisturizing, long wearing, great hint of color without the tacky texture that a lot of glosses possess (even high end ones). You can even just apply it to chapped lips and it won't accentuate anything, but seriously treat them right then and there.

even for combination skin

Before purchasing this moisturizer, I've always used drugstore brand moisturizers with very little complaint because of my oilier skin..but since I've started using chemical exfoliant products with BHA and toner (rather than just an old cleanser and scrub) my skin has become less oily and needed a little bit more quench. Enter a coincidental sample size of this product, and my skin had never felt so soft since I was a baby. Oil-free so it doesnt leave me shiny, even on my nose. Great for under makeup. Great for dry, normal and I dare say combo skin (even though the gel is marketed towards combo skin). If you are just oily rather than combination though, I do recommend opting for the gel. I love Clinique!

Great primer for UNDER the eye

If you want your shadows to be more vibrant and not crease, this isn't for you, because it will end up creasing. But if you want a great overall base color above and BELOW your eye (terrible dark circles here), this is great. I'm a pale person and this works great as a base for my undereye concealer since it takes care of some of my discoloration as well as all the veins that show through my upper lids. Although I'm probably going to look for MAC paint pots that match my skin tone as another option.

The shading is just right for light toned people because it doesnt have a yellow cast as a lot of concealers leave on me, but most of my concealment issues come from under eye circles, which this hides great except it gets very cakey under there. But if you have unevenness in skintone, this is perfect and full coverage without caking up, in any other areas besides the under eye. I still do end up patting just a little bit under my eyes, but make sure to use very little and get nowhere near your fine lines.

Didn't live up to any hype for me

I wanted to love this product since all the rave reviews seemed promising, but in fact it only mattified my face as much as a bunch of other products have, except balling up when I apply my powder foundation. I always end up having to moisturize on top of my set makeup when I use this product because it makes my makeup peel and ball up! Not a good primer for me AT ALL. Perhaps it'd work better as a balm on top, but I'll most likely return.

Favorite setting powder

I got this product in a sample package and as a result I completely stopped using my MUFE HD Setting Powder completely! This powder seems even more finely milled, translucent and makes the face appear so much more airbrushed than the MUFE cult favorite. More people have to get on in this!

Refreshing but ineffective

I have a genetically translucent, very thin skinned eye and lid area that is light purple and veiny. Never having tried an eyecream and only recently learning that there is no such thing as a topical eye cream for dark circles that work (because of underlying conditions that usually cause the problem) after I purchased this product, I was disappointed by the results. It's light, cool and refreshing but that can be easily copied with a cold spoon to the eyes. The light reflecting properties may be helpful for those that suffer from very slight discoloration, but only accentuated my problems. Also, once dry it flakes off easily and does not sit well under makeup.
