Beauty Product Reviews

Smooth and Creamy.

Great gel liner. Goes on smooth, dark, and stays where you put it. No transfer, smearing, etc. Very easy to apply. I have it in charcoal which isn't quite dark enough for me because I didn't check the color when I purchased it. It wears well in the waterline and comes in a nice compact glass jar with screw on lid. I have had mine for several months and they show no signs of drying out. I have several other brands of gel liner and this is my favourite. The only thing I didn't like was the brush that came with it, it did nothing so I used my own angle eye liner brush. :)

Light Weight.

I have pretty fair skin tone and thought I would give it a try, the SPF was a big influence in purchasing since the weather is warming up ( and my job requires me to be outside most of the day) The purchase was out on a limb, I came across it in a drug store and decided to buy it. It wasn't on sale, and it was $11.99 plus tax Canadian..So far so good, but I really dislike that you can't really measure how much of it you need when you dispense it out because it expands like shaving cream. It can also get all over the place. That said, it matches my skin great, it has very light coverage that evens out my skin, and it is much easier to blend out than my regular foundation. I didn't much like how sticky it felt because it seemed to eat my finishing powder and it smells kind of funny and runs like water a a few seconds on the back of my hand.

Glad I gave it a second chance.

This is probably one of the best drugstore primer finds finds ever. At first I hated it, I thought it was too greasy and my makeup just slided off when I went to put on my foundation. I stoped using it for about 6 months, but decided to start using it a couple months ago. I learned that a pea size amount goes a long way, and you should wait around 10 minutes for it to dry and set. It goes on like silk on your skin, covers up any shine and pores, and makes my cream foundation go on smoothly and beautifully. This is now an essential to my collection, and I will continue to buy it over and over again.

Love Hate.

I had this lip glass given to me as a gift summer of 2011. It was my first lip glass I ever received. The color is absolutely gorgeous and compliments my skin tone quite well. What I love about it is that the sponge applicator is super soft and feels so nice on the lips, it smells almost identical to chocolate and it's small and compact. What I hate about it is that I can't wear it on it's own. There has to be some sort of lipstick base underneath or else it goes on like goop and won't blend in nicely. Also it's kinda sticky and it feels like a little doesn't really go a long way.

Great first palette choice.

This was the first palette that I ever purchased in 2008 or 2009. I ordered it online for around $20. It arrived a few weeks later with just one cracked blue eyeshadow. It has came with "knock off" mac eyeliners and a 10 piece brush set for free. I still use it from time to time, and barely any shadow is used up. It's a great palette to have when you want bright vibrant colors. It's very pigmented and the colour goes on pretty easily, with an eye primer of course. It doesn't have much fall out it's small and easy to hold/carry. The only issue I've had so far is that some of the colours are hard to get off in that I think it's staining my eyelids/brushes a little bit. Mostly the darker pinks/reds. With some extra effort, I'm able to get the staining to go away.

Good alternative.

I went into buying this product with no high hopes. hoping it would do as the box said it would, and maybe I'd be more diligent at washing my face every day. I was very pleasantly surprised! I did notice softer, smoother skin after the first use. Now, I use it pretty much every second day. I find that I like the way it makes my skin feel so much that I look forward to washing my face in the morning before hopping into the shower (although I could probably use it in the shower, too, since it's water-resistant). I've noticed that my pores are smaller, my skin is brighter, and the pimples that I had on my face are gone. My only complaint is that I can't use it everyday because even though it leaves my skin nice and soft, I could feel my skin going tight and drying if I use it every single day.

A MAC Dupe.

I love single eyeshadows from Annabelle. I would never take a second look at the makeup before because I thought it was too cheap and would be absolute garbage. But now I adore them! There are so many colours to choose from and they are inexpensive ($7-9) for a single eye shadow. The packaging is similar to MAC and honestly, the pigment is right behind it! The colours stay on and don't fade away (they don't blend out into nothing like a lot of eye shadows) and they are very pigmented. They aren't very powdery so there isn't a large amount of fall out. I will continue to buy different colors.

It does the job.

I never buy much Rimmel London makeup, but I saw this primer around Christmas of 2011 and I have been using it ever since. It blends on your skin flawlessly and is light and airy. It has a weird smell, not bad, but just a unexplainable smell. I used 001 and it comes out as a bright pumpkin orange although when you blend it it blends into your skin leaving you without orange skin.It probably won't change your life but it feels nice and it's drug store cheap! Overall, I think it's a good product for the price. Would I buy it again? I probably will not (I'm not run out yet :) for a while since I like to try new products all the time, but I would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive primer that works.

Don't bother.

This is my first mascara I had when I was in the 6th/7th grade. The packaging is different now of course, but besides that nothing has changed. I decided to buy it because it was on sale and it was just a "in the moment buy". It's watery, messy and ineffective. It rubs off quickly and leaves me with smudges of black under my eyes. I have average lashes, not extremely long but not short either, but this did nothing to help with volume. You have to put on multiple coats to get any result and then it flakes/clumps disgustingly. No wonder it's so cheap and always on sale, it doesn't deserve the hype. The only thing I can mumble out saying I like is that it's super black.

Favourite High End Mascara

This is my favourite mascara I have ever wore/tried. The wand is quite thin and looks like your average mascara wand, but don't let that put you off though, the smaller applicator makes it a breeze to get those little lashes in the corners without any clumping. The pigment is so strong, it really impressed me that I put it on with a bare face and it made me look like I had a full face of makeup on. I have average length eyelashes, but this mascara really made it look like I had extremely long eyelashes. I love this, when I run out of this mascara I will be buying it again. The price isn't too high for MAC, I purchased this for about $20.
