Beauty Product Reviews

Started using this from work and fell in love!

When I began using this at work bc we had testers, I was apprehensive at first since I had used many other mineral makeup brands and all just seemed so-so. But let me tell you...I'm converted! It has a very silky and creamy texture that goes on flawlessly no matter if you apply it with a flat top brush (Handi brush), sponge, or regular powder or kabuki brush. The coverage is phenomenal and buildable, and a little goes a long way. I even use this as my concealer! I swirl my concealer brush around in the powder and then pat it on over my blemishes or dark circles and it covers like a dream. I also like that it contains SPF as sometimes I do tend to get lazy and forget to put on my sunscreen so using this gives me a little bit more peace of mind knowing I'll be protected from UV exposure. It is a bit pricey, but since I am able to get testers it doesn't quite break the bank for me. I definitely recommend it if you can afford it. It's easily available online from Jane Iredale, Astonishing Skincare or Dermstore, and many spas carry it as well. Give it a try, you'll love it!

My boyfriend enjoyed it ;)

Bought this for a couple's bath, and must say it wasn't what I was expecting...but that's a good thing! I was expecting it to be VERY floraly and rose scented, but it wasn't. It was more of a musky/sensual/woodsy idk what kinda scent. It was awesome! My man, who wanted to try it just because of it's name (hardy har har...am I right? =/) loved it as well. He said it made his skin SUPER soft, and he liked that the scent was very unisex so he didn't smell like he had rolled around in a bucket of Pink Sugar or flowers. The color it made the water was awesome too! It was this lovely lavender/orchid tone that was just very alluring and enchanting. Plus, a little goes a long way. We broke it up to use in several baths rather than dropping the whole thing in the bath, and let me tell ya...a little goes a long way on scent, moisture level and color change of water. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because though I did like the scent, I didn't love it. It's good for a sensual bath when you want it, but other than that the scent can give me a headache if I smell it for too long or in a concentrated state. That's also the reason for us breaking it down into several baths. Other than that though, I'm glad I purchased it.

Mint Julips is to die for!

Got my Mint Julips in the mail and was sooooooooooooooooo happy when I tried it out. It tastes absolutely amazing, and it really does slough off the dry skin from your lips leaving them smooth and plump. I believe I have now found my new favorite scrub!

Side note: I hated the Santa's cola-flavored lip scrub by Lush. The smell and the taste was way to artificial for me. I'll stick with the heavenly blend of Mint Julips from now on.

Good exfoliant my skin just didn't like it

This mask is really nice is you need to deep clean your skin and exfoliate at the same time. It smells nice and feels nice on. unfortunately for new, it purged my skin more than I would have liked it to. I broke out in a few places, and had one deep painful one under my chin. Ik it was just getting all the gunk out of skin, but I just wasn't a fan of blemishes on my skin afterwards so I exchanged it for cosmetic warrior which I'm trying out for the first time now too. All in all this is a good mask if your skin can handle the purging better than mine. Lush is a terrific company and I won't let this one insignificant incident keep me from trying out all their other masks.

Matte all day :)

I have oily skin and thus far this is the only thing to help keep me shine free all day. I just apply a little to my face and I'm golden for the eight hours at work where I'm on my feet pretty much the whole time. It has also helped reduce my hormonal breakouts. The texture of this product did take some getting used to however. It feels like a silicone gel. I wasn't too used to the idea at first, but after seeing how it kept my skin I was converted! This product has saved me a lot of fuss with having to blot my skin with powder or blotting sheets. It's totally worth the money for sure. TRUST ME!!!

My Favorite Dermalogica Product!!!

I swear the heavens opened up and dropped this little miracle into my hands the day I tried it. Everything about it is amazing! It's a powder that you activate with a little bit of water to create a grainy paste and then wash your face with it. It's not abrasive at all, but you can tell that it's exfoliating still. It's got almost a grainy but silky texture if that makes any sense. It's like the best of two worlds! The texture is something I can't even explain. It's just awesome! My skin looked and felt a million times better just after using it two times! I definitely recommend this product to everyone, and more-so those who are looking for a product to exfoliate their skin that's not overly abrasive.

Give this a try, you won't be sorry!

LOVE THIS STUFF!

I have used many cleansers in my life time. I guess that's part of being a product junkie. I have to say though: THIS IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE CLEANSER! It really feels great on my skin! I like that it has a tingling/cooling sensation, and really feels like it's penetrating my pores to purge them of excess oil and debris. The smell is a little overwhelming at first, but I got used to it. It smells kinda topical is the best way to put it. It's not terrible though, and should definitely not deter anyone from using it.

I have combination oily skin with excess oil on my t-zone and forehead. I got a sample of this and instantly fell in love. It maintains my skin in such a way that is awe worthy! Controls the oil levels and shine and purges out dead skin cells/debris from my pores to leave my skin looking flawless for days.

I pair this with the Daily Microfoliant that Dermalogica also sells and it's a match made in heaven.

Absolutely in love with this cleanser. Pricey but worth it, and I don't say that often so take my word for it. If you have oily skin this cleanser is a must try.

Like that it removes makeup really well...hate how it reacts with my skin.

I really want to like this product because it really does what it claims to do. It cleans your skin of debris on the surface and removes makeup very well, but it irritated my skin. I don't have sensitive skin by any means, but this just made my skin burn for some reason. Not sure what could have caused that to happen however. I'm a fan of the makeup removal though, and if they were to make a gentler formula of this I would definitely buy it. For now though, I just can't build myself up to getting used to the burning to use it.

Sorry Dermalogica this was just a no good for the harshness on my skin, other than that great product. Maybe someone else will have better luck with it than myself.

Was a little too abrasive for me and that's saying a lot...

I usually go for scrubs that are more abrasive than less just because my skin can handle the roughness, but this scrub was just a little too much for me.

I'm not sure if it was so much the texture or an added ingredient that went wrong for me, but I just didn't care for this scrub. I got a sample from my work and was super stoked to give it a shot. I got home and did my normal routine of taking off my makeup and prepping my skin to be washed. I added this into the mix without doing anything but taking my makeup off with warm water and remover. I began scrubbing this into my skin and immediately it felt as if I were scrubbing my face with sandpaper. The granules just didn't seem to be dispersed into the mixture like I had hoped they would. My skin felt very irritated after using it, and I had to allow a few minutes for it to calm down before I could continue with my cleaning routine.

Like I've said before, I usually like an abrasive scrub but this was just a bit too much for me. The turnout with my skin after a day or so was nice, but I don't think it was worth it. My face just felt raw! I love Dermalogica products, but this was a miss for me :( really wanted to like it though =/

Best Colgate Toothpaste...for Colgate...meh.

I don't like the way Colgate toothpastes leave my teeth feeling after a couple of hours (not clean at all), but this one didn't. It still doesn't hold a candle to any Crest toothpaste but it's not too terrible. It's not super minty and not too bland either. All in all it's average on taste. The whitening ability is substantial but not awe worthy. I really didn't notice much of a difference until about the second week of brushing, and I brush twice a day or as many as three times in a 24 hour period. I just didn't notice that much of a change. I guess that's due in part to me being more of a loyal Crest user. This product wasn't bad, just not my favorite.
