Beauty Product Reviews

This product is my baby.

I've had this in Bad to the Bronze for a day. A DAY. And I feel like I'll never use another eyeshadow again.

This is absolutely wonderful. In 2 hours this will have been on for 12 (and who honestly needs more?) And it lasted through a SHOWER. No other product I own could do that. Not even lipsticks.

This is such a creamy formulation that knocks you on the floor once you swatch it. It looks like a powder shadow and it wears even better. It doesn't come off as glossy (but if you wanted the glossy lid look, this would be the best thing to do it with).

My favorite thing to do with this is take a smaller brush and swipe some just below my lashline - I find that most shadows don't stay there since it's so close to the waterline. But this is just perfect. I love it. I am getting every color NOW.

Unimpressed.

I had hoped that I wouldn't have to exfoliate my lips as much prior to wear because this wasn't a stick, but it looks gross on when your lips are chapped. Also, I was just hoping for a nice moisturizing color that was an easier wear than a lipstick, but was more matte and had a longer wear than a gloss. However, there was so much shimmer in the product (at least in the color Peach Parfait) that it just looked like badly applied gloss, and very amateurish. Oh my gosh. Hate.

What I did like was that this did feel so nice going on and it's super hydrating, and it does have a fair amount of pigmentation, moreso in some shades than others. Don't come here looking for a hydrating lipstick though, because this applies like a longwear gloss.

Pick up another brush.

At first when I got this product I had never used a liquid OR a gel eyeliner, so I didn't like it because I didn't know how to do it. But now I'm realizing that this one is so good! It goes on really opaque and the color does not fade for a good 8-10 hours (at least through my school day, I take it off after). The brush is absolutely vile, though. They say to wipe it off with a tissue after using, but you can feel all the product getting trapped inside and it feels super stiff when you pick it up again the next day. When you go to wash it, the bristles get shoved apart and it never works the same again, so you can't get a clean line. I'd spend just 3 dollars for an e.l.f. eyeliner brush to compliment a really good eyeliner.

OH my GOD. I'm not sure I've ever loved a lip balm more. The moisture just hits you at all angles, it's seeping out of the stick! The packaging is also incredibly adorable. My one complaint would be that on darker lips, the tinted shades have next to no effect - even the cherry one. Because of that, I feel like I'm wasting my money if I get any more than quenched (the clear formula). But it does taste amazing. I put Baby Lips on at night and I'm feeling it when I wake up in the morning!

Let's be real.

I have this in passion fruit, thanks to clearance at Ulta. Now, I can't deny that these look super cute and I love the compliment I get whenever I whip this out. It tastes absolutely delicious, but I feel like it sits there in your lips - It doesn't moisturize, rather it just prevents the chapping. But it won't help your lips if they're already in a bad state. It doesn't have the qualities of a classic soother like Burt's Bees (my absolute favorite) or Carmex. Also, this formula will thin out quickly. Honestly, this works well enough during autumn, but in super dry/cold times like winter this isn't gonna cut it. You just have to be willing to sacrifice quality and long-lasting power for the cuteness of it, and sometimes I am!

feels like heaven

This brush... where to begin. I'm just starting my makeup collection so I grabbed a few e.l.f. brushes. Real talk, I cannot stop TOUCHING them. I had a Dior brush that was my absolute staple but it's not nearly as soft as these e.l.f. suckers. This brush in particular is my favorite. It's given me more service for my foundation than my e.l.f. complexion brush - if you're gonna buy one brush for your face, let it be this. Aside from concealer, this stuff works wonders for highlighting and contouring as well as applying blush and foundation, and it applies so evenly that it's the best out there for setting any look with powder. I am addicted to this, it is my favorite brush I've ever owned.

works wonders!

I don't know about all these bad reviews, but this dry shampoo is my secret weapon, and all my friends are always stealing it from me to work its magic! I have pretty voluminous hair and the dirt/oil of skipping a wash can weigh it down. When I spray this in, it restores all my volume, and it just flows well instead of feeling all clumpy and strand-ing like it does when its oily. This makes me feel like I have movie star hair.

However, after using this product liberally for two days or more, the white flakes start appearing. Also, I wouldn't use this product without having a bathrobe on - its color (white) and consistency just stick to your clothing and look like dust, and it won't come off 'til you wash it.

There is a lot of product in the bottle, I use it at least once a week (often more) and it's lasted me nearly a year now! As soon as it runs out, I'll be quick to repurchase.
