Okay, this may be confusing or dumb, but...I need help with picking undertones for my foundation.
They say to check the veins in your wrist, and I have. In some lights, they're blue. But in others, they're green.
The veins on my actual HAND (like where my fingers are) are green. The veins across my chest (like after a shower or when I swim) literally FADE FROM BLUE TO GREEN AND THEN GREEN TO BLUE.
And finally, I have visible, blue blood vessel looking things right by my eyes.
So my questions are:
1. What undertone should I pick? Warm or Cool? My arms and legs are tanned, but my face, neck and chest are so light that apparently my veins are different colors in those areas..
2. Instead of using my wrist as a guide for undertones, can't I just use the strange vessel things around my eyes? You know what I'm talking about; how our eyelids and eyes have those teeny veins around them.
Any help is appreciated, and if I need to clarify just let me know. I'm just really confused about my undertones. I currently wear a neutral makeup but it's too dark, so I want to go back and get a lighter shade and in the correct undertone.

Use the ones on your wrist. if you see both blue& green then you could be neutral.

You are neutral. 😁 Me too! I find a yellow tone is better than a pink tone for neutral skin. If neutral isn't an option with the brand you're choosing, go with the closest to your skin. I find pink makes me look sick and odd. (Well, MORE odd!) 😂 Good hunting!!😘💕

Thank you, ladies!
And Erica, I lean towards yellow, too...I just look strange when something is too pinky or red. (and I'll emphasize, too; extra strange!)
Thank you!

Check the coloring on your neck. If the SKIN looks yellow you are warm yellow, if it looks a bit yellow green you are warm olive, and if it looks a bit pink you are cool pink, and if it looks a bit red you are cool red. The depth or darkness of your skin does not determine undertone! I am very fair but with very strong olive undertones making it very hard to find foundation hah 😄

Taiya- Outside, I look extremely yellow, it's crazy. People are constantly asking me if I'm okay.

That. was. Awesome! I was struggling to explain foundation undertones to my mom the other day (she couldn't figure out how I was neutral-cool if my skin is yellow). Definitely going to share this with her. Thanks Jacqueline!

But not all foundation break down like mac; most foundations catagorize as warm or cool ; warm being yellow or olive and possible red and cool being pink or beige or possibly red also.
