I don't think I could possibly have the ultimate in brand loyalty, in that I buy everything only from them...I do have brand loyalty in terms of absolute favorite brands that I will defend until the day I die (Jackie, if you're reading this I'm thinking about Urban Decay), whose products I will always buy, but in spite of that, I will most certainly try almost anything else, from any other brand. I don't think that exclusive brand loyalty is worth it, you might miss out on something really awesome from other brands.

Rather, I have certain brands that I will NEVER buy from, for various reasons. I'm staunch on my no-buy list.

I always seem to stick with Olay for skincare products. I'll venture out and try new stuff, but I always come back to Olay. It never fails me, I probably should stop wasting money on products I end up hating and throwing away half full :P.

My no-buy list is:
- Lime Crime: the owner is rude, a thief, and the entire business from the start was unprofessional, predatory, and just downright "shady." Really there is too much to even summarize about how awful this company is.
- Sigma: their business practices are appalling, the products are gimmicky and poor quality, and the staff is completely unprofessional. The decision to sue a small business over the brush glove (a case which held absolutely no water, but nearly drove the small store out of business with legal fees) was the final straw for me.
- Urban Decay: I feel that naming cosmetics after illicit drugs is inappropriate and glorifies an addiction that has ruined thousands of lives. I don't find anything cute or clever in using innuendo and double entendre to name products. This is my personal beliefs, so take that how you will.

Hannah: Really it is a bit of both (Lime Crime products were INJURING people at the beginning because they were produced in unsanitary conditions; Sigma brushes are cheap and fall apart without provocation and the brush cleaning glove is just a groomer glove from the pet store; and the UD products I have been given to try failed miserably), though most of the weight goes to business practices. If a company is unethical, why would I spend money supporting them? Especially if they are just as likely to turn around and screw me over.

Mia: I strongly suggest googling Lime Crime and Doe Deere. Do some reading, then if you have any questions/need clarification I will be happy to reply. There's way too much to just explain here.

I completely agree with Emily on lime crime and sigma. Lime crime pisses me off so much, I can't believe Doe Deere isn't in jail yet.
I completely agree on the Urban Decay using drug related words (and many companies using sex words. It's weird to me and I'm glad society isn't banning the sex names since I feel it's an unearned taboo topic but calling my blush orgasm and stuff is weird lol), but even their name is quite "grungy" and I feel the drugs fit, though it is insensitive and maybe inappropriate. I am partial to UD, just because I have super sensitive skin and urban Decay eyeshadows are one of few brands don't bother my eyes.

I always go back to tarte and kat von d. I haven't had something go terribly wrong with them on my skin. And my skin reacts in hives with everything lol. So I tend to stick with those two face products, mascaras and eyeliners just to prevent reacting to other products.

Alyx I agree about the sexual names too. "Deep Throat" as a blush? Call me a prude, but that just isn't right or fitting for a pro brand (in my opinion).

Speaking of horribly inappropriate cosmetics names/packaging, I just remembered Bitchslap Cosmetics is on my list. If I'm not mistaken, they released something (a blush?) in a package shaped like a hooha. Ugh. Keep it in your panties and out of the makeup industry please.

Sorry this thread is getting kind of away from the original topic. I'll redirect back to a brand I am loyal to: e.l.f. I use their eye primer and eyeshadows and love them! The primer is only a dollar and it keeps my eyeshadow on for days at a time.

Another brand I love to death: Geek Chic Cosmetics. Based in Oregon, this indie company makes some of the most beautiful loose pigment eyeshadow I have ever used. Plus, everything is named after geeky things (comic books, TV shows, video games, etc). Most (if not all) of their products are vegan, cruelty free (well, as cruelty free as anything can be; y'all know my take on this), and gluten free. Their customer service is awesome, the products are awesome, the prices are awesome, just overall a great brand.

I have to agree with yall about some of the names. I know bitch slap cosmetics have lip sticks that are penises -_- I couldn't imagine ever getting anything like that. I have 2 daughters tht play with my makeup all the time so yea I could never invest in anything like tht.I'm teaching my girl to be ladies.

Mia- if you were interested in a limecrime velvetine, nyx, dose of colors and pretty zombie cosmetics all make similar products. Dose of Colors and Melt Cosmetics make similar lipsticks.
