What nail polish do you prefer to use for your child? My daughter is 12 months old, I've heard of a few companies that make special polish that's safe for children but I'd better trust the opinion of another mommy before going by what the companies advertise. My daughter is amazed by my painted toes and I'd like to paint her little toes too :)

Check with a dr especially at such a young age.

I have, her pediatrician said they have I believe she said about 2 or 3 brands that are completely safe for infants/toddlers but, I just needed someone who has tried it to say wether it worked out well or not.

I do appreciate your concern :)

I think any would be fine on the toes. probably the issue is with babies putting their fingers in their mouths. I've known other mom's who just used regular nail polish on their infant's toes. I have a boy, so I don't personally have experience though.

Yeah, I'd get it if I had wanted to paint her nails but she's teething so I know that would be a horrible idea. Just toes for now :)

As long as she doesn't put her foot in mouth I have 3 girls Lol

Yup, any brand will do if they no longer suck on their fingers and/or toes.

I have 2 girls. I wouldn't think to put polish on their nails at that age. they could end up touching it while it's wet and put their fingers in their mouth. but it's all up to you.. you're the mom.

I just did my 2 yr old yesterday with regular polish. (just her toes) she loves it! Funny how feminine they can be at such a young age:)

I've painted my daughters toes since they where a few months old, finger nails I waited until about 2. And I just used regular polish.

I paint my 2 year old cousin's nails all the time. I just make sure to use zoya, or other 5 free polishes. That way if it is accidentally ingested, there aren't any of the harsh chemicals.

Piggy paint and hopscotch kids are two kid safe nail polish brands I've seen online, no experience with them as I only have boys...

I asked my GP about this a while ago and the amount of nail polish that the child could ingest from their nails is not enough to even register in tests. And polish isn't harmful to pregnant moms?

Piggy paint is great. They sell it at target and it dries quick which is nice. I've been painting my daughters nails with it since she was 9 months old. She loves it

And when I was pregnant I was told by my ob not to paint my nails or spend more than 10 minutes in a nail salon.

I paint my nephews nails and he's 3. He knows he has to let them dry and he doesn't put his hands in his mouth so it's fine.

Nail polish can be harmful to pregnant women. It just depends on the nail polish, how often you use it etc. if you work with it everyday it can affect the baby. Seche vite is also known to cause harm to fetuses.
