Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! It makes me even more certain that I did the correct thing! :) plus my hair is going to grow back healthy now because I got most of the split ends and unhealthy hair cut off so fingers crossed for a healthier head of hair when it grows back out!

Take your straightener, put a section of about 1 inch of hair in and twist it straight up and backwards. Lol sorry if that made no sense but that's what I do when I style pompadours :)
