Hello Beautylistas! I thought it would be great to try a Makeup experiment with Contouring & Highlighting.I know so many may not think they could achieve it or even feel overwhelmed by the whole act of it all(am I right?) Let's bring this to light shall we,I would like all of you to pick a video or a pictorial of any highlight & contour look and follow it to the T,don't follow your face shape(I promise you there is a point to this) Follow every step they say,Use what you have to achieve this and stare at it after your done then if you want to which I think will benefit all of you post the picture here NOOO filters or edit just plain out RAW photo of what you were instructed to do.Lets be real with this and find a solution as to why this is a top need for so many.Lets have a discussion about what you see on your skin,what it looks like ,how it feels,your thought's across the board.Then as the honesty flows this will allow so many to have a better understanding to what is fact or misguided in makeup.Remember follow it to the T! Let's get this rolling, share & Learn.This will benefit all :) Just a quick FYI this is not meant to look pretty it's about being real with the result's of what you see.

I would love to participate, but I have literally no contouring products. :( this seems interesting though, as I was reading your comments on another thread about this, I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

No need for actual contouring powder.This is a open opportunity to use what you have, there are so many videos to choose from that don't use the correct products and this will be a learning experience to see the difference.

If they say use a dark color or bronze do it, if they say use a highlight concealer 5 times lighter do it lol there is a point to this :-)

Honestly it looks so freaking gross with the bronzer like I just think it looks horrible but I followed her instructions so iono.., :P.

I'm so happy you wentfor it Diana and thank you for trying this out.This brings the point of this experiment what they say is not always best with the results you get.Do you see how that bronzer instruction she gave actually dragged your features down?

Yeah forreal I felt like I looked much better with nothing on my face compared to her "contouring" techniques - like the bronzer did not provide any kind of " shadow" effect like she said it would at all

Yeah it just looked strange like the bronzer down the sides just made those parts of my nose look dirty.

I think alma is basically getting at you can't use bronzer to contour (which is what this video told me to) and you can't just follow the way someone else contours their face because you may not have the same face shape - and contouring seems like a very unique form of applying specific products to sort of change your face shape to look ideal - I believe miss Jacqueline has told me in the past that every contour tries to achieve an oval face shape (which I already have) and she has told me if I wanted to contour (which this was my first attempt by following that video) I should only do it very slightly with maybe some contouring on my cheek bones and highlight but that's it - so with that in mind I definitely am not going to ever use bronzer to try and contour ever again :P and I'll need to structure it to fit my personal face shape instead of just blindly following how someone else does it on themselves.

Thnx alma I definitely feel like I learned a valuable lesson in participating in this experiment and we should do more! Haha and I'm curious to see the other photos of following videos for contouring it will be interesting to see the results.

Thank you so much for participating you have help expand ones mind of true out come of all overload of mishaps of contouring and highlighting.This is something everyone should try.The best way to see it is on yourself and looking at the true result of the finish.The next one should be applying face powder before foundation lol that will be an eye opener for many.
