Remember that scene in the movie Tommy Boy when David Spade hits Chris Farley across the face with a wooden board? Totally the first thought in my head when I saw Lisbeth's guide😂

Alma, praise! 🙌 Seriously, contouring is so out of control, and over-hyped. Yes, you can do cool transformations with it, or bring out features but it's not necessary or practical for most women.

Navi's tutorial I have seen before and it makes me sad, because I think the model is so cute to begin with and they just make her into a Kardashian-stepford clone *shudder

It takes understanding what you're actually doing with the highlighting and contouring and the artistry to place it and blend it correctly, Alma's experiment makes such a good point. My 14yo and I were laughing over this the other night, specifically YouTube videos, and I was saying something about not contouring the sides of my nose because it would just make it look more witchy. (My nose is really thin and kind of pointy, so we joke I have a witchy nose) Amber pointed out her face shape, she definitely would play by a different set of rules than someone with a wide square jaw for example.

I love everything about this! I've Deena few girls recently walking around looking like panda bears and all I can think is "someone watched a YouTube contouring video".

Ok here's my go.
Step one was clearly to fill my brows.
ABH-Dipbrow in Chocolate
Then I began the real fun:
A "coating" of Ben Nye's Ultralite concealer
As I applied it I could tell the blob I had put on my hand wouldn't be enough to obscure my skin as my guide had. I went back in for a 3rd blob to complete my coverage. As I was making the tree of life on my forehead I realized I had not drawn my brows close enough or high enough, a problem for another day.
As no product is shown or specified I'm really left to my own devices with the contour. I am committed to making this as successful as humanly possible so I'm going to use MUFE HD Foundation N155 mixed with N177.
Good thing I just contoured my minuscule forehead and whittled it down even more!
War paint on, time to blend.
End result: a ghost with brows and a self-tanning forehead accident.
*end result next
