What do you buy backups for?

What product do you love SO much that you have backups "just in case"?

I think I have:
3 backups for ELF's HD Powder
4 ELF's Studio Presed powder
4 ELF Eyeshadow Primer
& 2 back-ups for Sephora's Mineral Foundation.

I use those 4 SO much that I just cannot have THAT day where I'm scraping every last bit of it in hopes that it lasts me for one more use.

What about you?

Brushes... I have back-ups stored away of my MAC (2)165, (3)226, (3)219, (2)217... (2)Ecotools bronzing brushes... It sucks searching out the same type of brush head shapes to keep things consistent, and it's nice to have a few alternates for different colors.

MUFE HD foundation, powders and primers, UDDP, setting sprays, and brush cleansers... are usually staples I HAVE to have.

Sometimes, I'll stock up on LE items if I know it's in high enough demand to swap w/ too...  =)

Benefit's Lemon Aid eye primer, a few of my favourite Illamasqua eyeshadows (for fear they'll be discontinued!), Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and my Bobbi Brown foundation, for fear I'll run out ! I live pretty far from any high-end retailers so it's a nightmare if I run out of anything.

Lashes. I always have 3 of my fav lashes Dolly Wink no.1, MUFE #156, MAC #20. I use to get backup lipgloss but not so much now since I prefer lipstick. Clinique acne solution 3-step especially because the 1st step runs out before 2 & 3 and it's part of my daily routine. A extra bottle of brush cleaner.

I don't have any back ups right now but I just started using some of Urban Decay's products, and I definitely plan on buying some back ups of their Primer Potion, Razor Sharp Ultra definition Powder, and their setting spray, these 3 products have changed my whole way of thinking when applying my make up!

I actually rarely buy backups...I think its because I like changing products so much =p I could see myself buying backups of Clarisonic brush-heads though, and maybe my regular foundation brush.

I have back-ups for my K-Palette Real Lasting Brow Pen, K-Palette 0 Teka Powder (They disappear from stores sometimes. Horrors.), my MUFE primers and foundations, and whatever mascara I'm really into (Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl, at the moment).
I travel quite a bit and sometimes I lose or misplace things, so back-ups for my essentials definitely come in handy.

I buy back ups of products I absolutely love. Especially limited edition items that I LOVE and know that I won't be able to get another when I run out. Also when I know I go through a product fast and know that I will repurchase really soon. I usually buy my mascaras double.

They only thing I buy a back up for is Maybelline's Loose Powder. It's amazing!! I have super duper oily skin and it's the only thing that can keep my skin matte. I always keep an extra one because it's hard to tell when you're almost out. :)

I buy backups for: Ardell 305 lashes, Physicians Formula Eye Booster Liquid Liner in Ultra Black, Maybelline Waterproof Full N Soft Mascara, MAC Viva Glam V Lipstick, Physicians Formula Plump Potion in Rose Potion and Nude Potion, and Rimmel Bronzer in 022 Sun Bronze.

When I finally commit to a BB cream I will surely buy backups!

Brushes: Sigma E45, MAC 217 and 224 and ELF dollar flat shader and fan brushes. It's so funny, the ELF ones are so cheap-and the fan one is so flimsy, but I love how it applies blusher/bronzer combos on my round face! I also have multiple random Sonia Kashuk brushes.

I have YT to thank for my hoarding of makeup/brushes...

maybelline lash stiletto
Revlon Brow Enhancer in blackened brown
Maybelline clear mascara (lash gel)
Milani's Eye tech liquid liner
Revlon colorstay and Photo ready

Revlon's soft nude lipstick
Revlon's nude attitude lipstick (i think that's the color, it's the matte nude)
Revlon's photoready concealer
....and finally, My sonia kashuk blending brush

i have a unch of random unopened mascaras that i'll buy on sale. I also have a few backups for elf blushes in candid coral. i use it almost every day and have gone through one and hit pan on another, and when they had that 60% off sale i kind of went crazy. hahaha

maybelline one by one mascara
coastal scents pro blending fluff brush (which is a dupe for a sigma brush, i forget which)

thats all i can think of off the top of my head but i'm sure there's a ton more!

I don't have any backups yet, but as I recently found and fell in love with the L'Oreal Endless color In The Buff - which I bought a long time ago and lost in the black hole that is the back of my dresser- I've been tempted to buy a few back ups on ebay since it's discontinued and so hard to find. I also have a MAC shadow that I bought at my local CCO that I love and was limited edition. I forgot the name just now, but I know they still have it and I want to go back and buy another. I just feel silly hoarding two or three of one item. I'd usually rather try a little more variety =)

I do backups for mascara and some difficult to find MAC lipsticks. Like L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Blackest Black mascara; Shy Girl and Peachstock are lipsticks I stock on because they are hard to find where I live, I guess everyone loves these colors!

Sephora Brush Cleaner, Lip Balm ( I have a drawer full), and Urban Decay All Nighter Spray. I actually love the UD Spray so much I keep an extra mini and an extra normal size. When I purchase Ben-Nyes Concealer Wheel, I always buy two just because I don't go into the Theatre Supply store that often.

i usually just have a back up pencil liner & mascara. because like tiany, i would die without those two items.

other than that, i'm not too worried about running out of anything. i just do my own make up so it's not like i'm constantly using make up or have a kit.

i DO stock up if an item is on sale like lash/brow serum or more expensive stuff.

If I fall in love with a limited edition product I usually buy backups. For expample, I loved MACs Emancipation Lip Glass from the Wonder Woman collection so I bought a couple of those and always stock up on the Kohl Power Eye Pencils in Feline when they come out. I also always keep backups of mascara and eye brow pencils.
