Accutane has side effects. I would do some research on it before taking it. It has to do with birth defects. The safer alternative would be to get prescribed birth control. Since the dosage is monitored by a doctor, it should be safer. I have the same problem and while I was on birth control, it really helped calm down my acne and such.

I'm not sexually active and I won't be for a long time. did you're acne ever come back?

You need a prescription from your doctor. But have you gotten any other previous prescriptions from your doc for topical gels or pills? Because of it's side effects Accutane is seen as a 'last resort.' There are many other options for clearing your skin faster with fewer negative effects that you can try first.
If really NOTHING else has worked for you, though, don't be afraid to try Accutane. I'm currently on 30mg & my worst side effects have been dry lips & eyes, and I feel more tired than usual. At the beginning of my course I also had some crazy mood swings. My dr. told me to wait it out and he was right, it went away & I feel like myself again. I have another month or two to go, and the Accutane has made a huge difference. I have some scarring left on my cheeks, but I haven't had a zit in weeks! For me it was worth it.

Birth control works wonders, if you're not down with all the side affects of the other ones.
You don't have to be sexually active to be on BC. It helps with a lot of things, cramps, acne, regulated your period. I took it for a year before I was sexually active. It cleared up my skin amazingly!!

Ok! Then you should definitely consider Accutane. It does cause major birth defects so you have to take birth control with it, but because I'm not sexually active I just had to sign a form that said I understand the consequences but choose not to take birth control.

I didn't want to try birth control because I already suffer from migraines & my doctor said that it would most likely make them worse. Also, I didn't like that I was likely to gain a lot of weight. Every option has it's pros and cons, talk to your doctor so he can advise you on what your best option will be.

Visit skin specialist, you need to visit him, I had similar condition way back a yr ago, my specialist advised me to use Clindamycin phosphate gel 20%, I guess.. it helped I was on it for 5 mnths or so, but then after the sometym, there were some lesions, so I again I did the same routine, and eventually also started working out, trust me I don't have any more lesion, just maybe 1 or 2 @ d tym of month.. the more you sweat the b8r, it open up the pores, n have clear skin with beautiful glow on it..
these 2 things are helpin me out..

I am not either. You don't need to be to take it. I started taking birth control to regulate my hormones. Hormonal imbalance may be the reason you're breaking out. Breaking out along the t zone is due to stress while alone the cheeks and jaws are due to hormonal imbalance. My acne came back only because I stopped using it for a shorter period than I was supposed to. Birth controls comes by different companies and the side effects for each are different. That is why it's usually prescribed and is according to your own body. I took 3 different brands before I found the right one and I am really glad I did because it helped decrease my acne and helped with my scarring. Accutane should be seen as a last resort because it does cause a lot more side effects than birth control. Do a little more research if you are really considering it.

Here is what I suggest. Drink more water, it will help flush your body of bacteria. Try using a scrub once a week, or twice a week. I suggest a natural sugar scrub. Use a cleanser designed for gentle but effective removal of acne. (Yes to Tomatoes, St. Ives Green Tea wash, etc.) Always wash your face twice a day, morning and night. I suggest scrub in the morning, and a gentle cleanser at night. Tone your face with a Apple Cider Vinegar/Green Tea toner. Apple Cider Vinegar will calm your skin, fight bacteria and balance your Ph levels. (3 parts green tea, 1 part apple cider vinegar.) Next, find a good oil free moisturizer that will calm skin, and use it after each wash. Adding in serums, or other great skin products is fine, as long as you stick to it with dedication. Keep drinking water, tea, or natural juices through out the day. Skip sodas, or sugary drinks. Avoid too much sodium intake, and stop worrying about it. The more you worry, the worse it will get. As for body acne, scrub it with a body scrub once a week also. You'll love the results. :) Good luck, and I hope I helped.

In my experience, when it's hormonal/cystic, products and skincare methods can only do so much. If those strong acne medications have done nothing for you, the chances of a non prescription product or method clearing your acne is very small.
Here are more acne tips: bit.ly/Ze1HKQ
But like I said, it can only do so much.

As far as side effects go, I became super sensitive to the sun. I have to apply sunscreen multiple times on a day I spend outside, but it's not terrible. I don't take birth control, but my pills do effect how well birth control works. They also effect the baby before you'd even know you're pregnant.. So I would just recommend really monitoring your sexual activity and using other forms of protection. Overall, There have been no terrible side effects in my experience :P

Birth control works!! Try taking zinc supplements my skin cleared up in a week...and also itll make your hair grow fast...for right now try this for a week ik it sounds gross and smelly but this blast zits out fast!! Use a garlic clove and rub it on the breakouts leave it to sit for 20 minutes garlic is known to clear out bacteria.. And wash off also try washing your face longer like 60-90 seconds and use a witch hazel toner
