I started at 14. You wanna stay natural for awhile because you have natural beauty! Start out light, mascara, blush and lipstick. Avoid eyeliner most young teens don't know how to do it and look like a raccoon, I know I did! Lol.

Right now im 13 (grade 8) and i started wearing full face makeup but it was really light and wasnt very noticible. Its good to go to a proffesionel to see what suits you, i went to Sephora and they showed me what was good and gave me tips

I started at 15 I only wear mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss. I was allowed to wear makeup at 12 but I didn't personally because I believe that one should be comfortable in their skin
Not only that but I've seen girls who always wear makeup and there would be times were they didn't wear any make up at all and they looked like a complete different person..

I started at ten on and off and I'm twelve now. My skin is fine, because I never wore any foundation, I only wore and wear eyeliner and mascara. I also wash and moisturizer my face twice a day, which makes it really soft. Girls should be able to wear make up whenever they want, but now I realize ten is a bit young.

I started at 12/13 when my skin changed (acne and stuff). That was my mom's rule lol "No makeup until you have something to cover."

I started at 12... But it looked like a train wreck, wore wayyy too much eyeliner. I think 13 or 14 is a good age because that's around the time when skin starts to get oily or pimply and hormones kinda come in. Just take care of your skin, wash it, keep it moisturized, don't sleep with make up on, and give your face a break every once in a while.

I think middle school is a good age to start because at least where I live that's the first school where in the dress code your allowed to wear makeup, don't start out with foundation, powder, bb creams, concealer until you really need it. Mascara, neutral eyeshadows(only because they are easier for beginners to use and generally always look good) brown eyeliner, mascara and blushes close to your natural blush are good things to start with. As you get better at applying makeup and have a good base of product then go for brighter fun colors:) just learn basics first

I started in middle school, probably around 13. I think even that may have been an early age to start, but it wasn't much makeup. This thread is really an eye-opener because I had NO idea girls were wearing makeup at 10. To me, that seems ridiculous - the way media influences makeup and a perfected face and body is obviously affecting girls at far too young an age, and this might be both physically and psychologically damaging. I completely agree with Courtney W - it's SO important to be comfortable in your own skin and just enjoy being young and growing up before you start worrying about makeup!

A teenager! My sister is ten and she still plays on the playground, I don't see the need in a young girl who wears makeup. But everyone's different :)

Well, here’s a little synopsis:
Dear Teens, remember that you are teens. Don’t rush the aging process. Trust me, when you are on the brink of 30, you will be trying as hard as hell to look younger. Also, please don’t roll in a bag of doritos to look like Snooki and please avoid eyeliner that makes you look like a raccoon. The aim here is to look like you, but polished.
Young skin is amazing. It naturally looks flawless. Pores are small and skin is tight. Keep it like this and always wear sunscreen and take your makeup off at night. Your 25 year old self will thank you.
Keep foundation light (unless you truly need that full coverage). Try a BB cream or tinted moisturizer. It will even your complexion without that heavy feel. If you feel that you need a little bit more coverage try Urban Decay’s Naked foundation or Makeup Forever’s HD foundation. If going the foundation route, after moisturizing, add a primer. I recommend Smashbox Photo Finish Light. It doesn’t clog pores and helps minimize oil production.
*Don’t use a sponge when applying foundation. Sponges absorb a lot of product and you end up wasting money.
*You only need a small amount of primer. Half a Dime sized amount for your entire face!
Keep blush light and fresh. Nars ‘Orgasm’ is a great natural looking blush. Apply to the apples of your cheeks or along your cheekbones. Use a light hand. Tap of excess product before applying. You can always add more if you need to darken it (I wish someone would have told me that when I was a teen. Let’s just say, I might of as well colored my cheeks with a red marker. No wonder I was the weird kid in the back row).
Now eyes: keep it simple. You don’t need a heavy smokey eye for day to day wear. Save it for special occasions like prom or homecoming. If you’re not even in high school, don’t do a heavy smokey eye at all.
Pick ligher shades. If you want to add some fun color, do so with your liner. Try Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner. It’s fab. Put a slightly darker shade on the outer corner on your eye if you’re over 15. Avoid if you’re not.
Keep eyeliner minimal. What I mean by this is don’t draw circles around your eyes. Keep eyeliner close to your lashline. Keep it a thin line. When putting eyeliner on the lower lashes, avoid putting it on your water line. This will make your eyes look smaller and more narrow. Press eyeliner right under your bottom lashes. Try doing dropped liner and only line your bottom lashes half way. Keep this line as thin as possible and use a light hand when applying.
*avoid black eyeliner, unless it’s a formal event. Those under 16 don’t really need to do black eyeliner. Unless, you’re going emo or goth or as a witch for halloween.
Keep mascara simple. Try Benefit’s They’re Real Lashes. It’s Sephora’s #1 seller.
Keep lip color light. Avoid red. Keep it natural or use gloss
You don't need to do a full face of makeup until it's a formal event or you are in college. Keep it simple!
Focus on your skin care! Always remove makeup and wash your face. Always use a sunscreen. Your older self will someday thank you if you do.. otherwise, start saving for expensive facials, lazer treatments, and botox.
Teens are a huge part of my clientele.

I started in seventh grade... I'm not a heavy makeup wearer and never have been, so as long as you wait until you're mature enough to love yourself and all that jazz, go for it!
