I started way too young (probably about 8 or 9) and it definitely did not do wonders to my skin. Ever since then my skin has been horrible and I breakout constantly but I stopped wearing any makeup except mascara and my skin is finally getting back to normal. But it could have always just been the brand I used.

I think they can start wearing it whenever they want, but not for insecurities. I didn't wear makeup in high school, and I still don't wear it on a normal basis even though I haw a collection big enough for 20 girls. I taught my little cousin how to apply makeup when she was 12, and I would have done it sooner if she wanted.

I started at 11 but I was only experiencing with makeup then, so it was crazy. I'm 13 now and I understand that it should be very natural colors for your eyecolor

I'm 17 and I still don't wear a full face maskara. I started when I was 16 just with eyeliner and mascara nothing more on a normal basis but on special occasions I wear full face makeup :)

I think 15 is a good age. Highschools in Australia don't allow any makeup sooo yeah.

Your fine like that as long as you don't wear full makeup everyday is fine because you'll ruin your skin color but mascara is always fine to wear everyday and a little but of eyeliner in my opinion is fine to start at 13

Well I am in 6 grade n not allowed to wear makeup while other friends have been wearing since 4 grade so I think maybe 6 grade is pretty good

It really depends. Most girls need very little but some get bad scars from acne and I think it's okay to cover that up with a tinted medication and then balance out the look. There is something glorious about the translucent skin of youth though that is beyond beauty and I'd hate to toss it away.

I started wearing makeup at 11 but I didn't start wearing a full face (foundation, blush, etc...) till I was in highschool (14)

Wasn't allowed to wear makeup until 14. Even then in my opinion it's a bit young. I'm 25 now and didn't start wearing full face until 23. I think it helped me to be comfortable in my own skin because there are days where I don't have time for makeup, but am not insecure about having my bare face seen in public.

I think at 15 or 16 ..... As a child makeup should be avoided as at that age skin is delicate & natural beauty is the best makeup.

In grade 6 I wore mascara. Then grade 7 mascara and a bit of cover up where I needed it. It really doesn't affect your skin if your taking it off at night and using face wash. I use Spectro gel.

I started at 11, but I never went overboard with it. I always did it to enhance my natural beauty and to have fun with it.
