I've been seeing girls as young as 10 start wearing make up. When do YOU think it's ok to start wearing make up and how does it affect your skin as you grow up?

I started at 10. But only eyeliner, and it was brown not black. I started with just that because it was the same year I got contact lenses, and it brought twice the attention to my eyes! I didn't start with actually full face makeup until about 6/7th grade. But mostly because of cheerleading. Nevertheless, I've seen no negative effects on anything since then!

At least a teen, and even then maybe only some blush. Makeup at a young age can not only damage your skin, but your self comfort. Girls that are learning to wear makeup at a young age grow up being dependent on it. Rather than being confident with their natural beauty.

Probably around seventh grade.

Ah interesting. I think it's better to start around a teen, then only wearing blush or mascara maybe some eyeliner.

I don't see what's wrong with starting before teen years?

I didn't start until college. I think its important to be comfortable in ones own skin before wearing makeup. I wouldn't want my daughter to feel like she must wear makeup to be pretty. I want her to wear makeup because she wants to. long story short, at least high school. call me crazy!

I started at 13 only cause most girls I looked up too were so superficial and then I sorta went along with it

start wearing light makeup at 13, if it's okay with your mom:) then experiment with it more until you feel you would like a full face of makeup:). .

and it all depends on how much coverage you feel you need, & what type of skin you have/ is it problematic. .

It's a personal choice (or parents) when someone decides to wear makeup. I started when I was 13. Teenage years are a fun time to experiment with crazy looks.

It's really when you feel comfortable wearing makeup. I suggest start with the basics when you are 12 and then eventually when you learn more about how to apply makeup properly and then you should be able to wear more makeup as you get older 💙

I've been doing it since I was really small. I don't remember the exact age, but I think it was 1 or 2. And look at me in my profile pic, my skin is perfectly fine!!

I'm 15 and don't wear a full face of makeup everyday only on special occasions.

I never really wore make up while I was at school. I started wearing it when I started college at 16. And it was just a little foundation, eyeliner and mascara. I think probably about 14 is an ok age to start wearing make up. And just a some mascara and lipgloss and maybe a little eyeliner.

12 is fine if its ok with your mom. I am really into makeup and she is very supportive of that. I buy everything with my own money or gift cards.
