I do a turmeric face mask with turmeric (ha ha ha obviously) nutmeg, honey and coconut oil. It leaves a yellow tint but it fades with two washes. I make a fresh paste every time I don't know I just think it better than leaving it in the fridge.

You can use either a shop-brought exfoliant or sugar and olive oil. Mix together until it makes a paste and then rub on your skin for a couple of minutes. Then wash it off :)

I have a mask that proves very
trying to remove so a washcloth is used. A towel like fabric would be best. The smoother cloths tend to not help as much.
Also , use hot water.
I dampen the cloth in hot water and then run across my face , repeatedly. Keep the cloth continuously hot.

I wouldn't use sugar on your face, it has jagged edges that can disrupt the lipid layer which protects the skin as well as is what helps the skin retain moisture. It takes time for this layer to repair after being destroyed & you'll end up with dry flaky skin. I do recommend exfoliating, there are a lot of great products out there, I prefer a chemical exfoliant personally but for a diy you can use dry oatmeal & a washcloth

Simmie,
I actually feel that Sarah's suggestion of dry oatmeal and a washcloth is the most gentle and easy solution. I've used oatmeal before, but never for tumeric. It is magnificent and a staple in skincare so I highly recommend trying that first.
Really fantastic idea, Sarah.
If that doesn't work... in a pinch for a ***one-time deal****, I'd make the exception because of the extent of the staining. I use organic sugar on my body, but I wouldn't ever use it on my face. Instead, I'd use BROWN sugar...it is much softer than regular sugar. It is often used on more sensitive skin, such as lips (which are very delicate) and so I find in this instance it to be effective.
Still, I would say test patch and use EVER SO GENTLY...one time..period.
As Hannah recommended, I'd use olive oil to mix it and keep an excessively light hand.
Rinse thoroughly and then use an aloe based toner. Hope in any event, you get it resolved. Good luck!

I agree with Rozberry, I do use organic sugar on my body as well sometimes but of course the skin on our face is much more delicate whether you're sensitive or not! If you're in a pinch you can use BROWN sugar, it absolutely is much softer than regular sugar! Great idea Rozberry!

Thanks, Sarah. I'm going to try your oatmeal suggestion! Do you recommend steel cut oats?
