Anyone else notice when it's hot out nail polish takes three times as long to dry?? I tried to do my toes last night I did a thin nude coat, waited 10 minutes to do a second, waited 10 again and then one coat of a glitter polish. I went to write on them 20 miutes later and my pen smudged the polish so I fixed it and left it. 40 miutes later in bed my sheet pulled all the polish off my big toes!! It never dried! Is it because of the heat by chance? Or just crappy polish?

What brand of polish are you using? And are you using a base and top coat?

I only had that problem when the polish is old

I used NYC for the nude coat and Sally Hansen for the glitter coat. And I have never used a base or top coat on my toes because this has never happened to my toes before.

I went on a vacation to California last week and the same thing happened to me Raylene. I did one thin coat of Jessies Girl in Pink and let it dry for 10-15 min then added a thin coat of a Finger Paints glitter top coat and it wouldn't dry for the life of me. I even soaked my toes in ice water and it still didn't fully set the polish. I blamed the heat too because it was 103? where I was at and normally I do my nails in 80-90? weather at home.

Yea last night it was rather warm in my house as I didn't have my air on all day so maybe it really is just the heat?

They say running your nails under cold water speeds dry time. If not, at least it cools you off..lol

Maybe it's humidity related, lil sis?

Lol this just made me laugh.
The way you described it, I could seriously picture this happening lol
It's happened to me before and yeah I'd say it's from the heat.
Do you have a fan that you can sit your feet in front of? or an old trick to try is to lightly spray your nails with hairspray. I've only done that once but I've always heard that it helps

Have you tried dipping your freshly painted nails into freezing cold water?
