Gel nails under artificial nails?

Okay so I have a weird question for you all. I have very thin nails, and I'm finally able to grow them to a normal length, thanks to gel nails. But I want to venture in to the nail trends, and get fake nails, but I don't want to ruin my already thin nails. So I was thinking of ways around putting nail glue directly onto my nail, and I got to thinking, why not try doing gel nails, then glueing the nails on top of the gel. I know this is odd, but I thought it was at least worth a shot to ask! (I do my gel nails at home btw, and I would be doing the artificial nail at home too) thank you all!

You get liquid gel nails, correct? If so, they should be seriously solid so that you can grow them long...and wouldn't need tips.

I agree with Rozberry...why do you need fake nails when you are using gel?? I think it's enough especially when you're nails grow...my cousin is doing the same and here nails are starting to grow naturally

I think it would make the fake nail look really bad since you have a gel polish underneath (which is usually quite thick). But I guess you never know till you try.

Thanks girls! I think I might try it. My nails grow really slow and they'll brake when I try to give my nails a breather from polish (I try to give them a day of no polish) and I really wanted to try the almond shaped nails for once, which it will take months for me to get them that long
