Hi,
Has anyone tried the new facial oil by the body shop? How does it compare to more expensive oils?
Thanks

For those interested, it is this http://m.thebodyshop-usa.com/mt/www.thebodyshop-usa.com/skin-care/facial-serums/intensely-revitalizing-facial-oil.aspx?un_jtt_v_pdp=yes&un_jtt_redirect
I prefer to mix my own oils. I see some ongredients, such as lavender oil and added fragrant products (plural) a bit too far up the label for my own skin. I haven't tried it, but I do use a variety of organic oils on my skin and so in this instance, my own routine is a better fit. I'm surprised st the amount of fragrant oils as they can cause irritation.

Is it the Olis of Life you mean? I got a deluxe sample size a week or so ago! It's nice, I haven't tried more expensive oils so I can't really compare it... But I feel like it gives my skin a very pretty glow and definitely some good moisturiser but I also feel like it takes a long time for my skin to absorb it - I have normal skin so maybe it would be better suited for dryer skin!

Rozberry, I read it is very fragrant indeed.
Sabrina, thanks for the review. I have extremely dry skin, not very sensitive. I want to get started with facial oils, but I wouldn't know how to tell the difference between a good one and a great one!

My own favorites for skincare on my face are Evening Orimrose, Sweet Almond, Apricot, Jojoba, Rosehip and Argan Oil. These work well for me to keep my dry skin soft and bright. I'm also big on Omega 3's in my diet.

Thanks. I have a few of these but it's hard to get in my country. I use castor oil and avocado oil mixed together sometimes.

I think a mixture is a smart option, partially due to how certain oils working together, but also because of availability...as you experienced.
I have been exploring facial oil myself and was going to ask my Esthetician when I saw her about this one.

Paula's choice products look very interesting, unfortunately also very hard to get for me. I'm currently traveling in a country where things are cheaper and there is the body shop. The oil is released on Sept 15th and it's also my last day. I hope to be able to get it before my flight home! Thanks for your help!

As a big facial oil enthusiast like Rozberry, I would also pass on this oil. The benefits an oil provides would most likely be overridden by the use of fragrance and irritants. I like for my facial oils to benefit me in the long term, not just make my skin feel nice and smell as soon as I put it on. Oils can help repair free radical damage, but I personally don't see the point when it's mixed with fragrance which contributes to free radical damage, and other irritants.
I've tried so many oils, but my favorite still is Squalane oil. It's evened out my skin tone better than what an expensive serum would... and it absorbs so quickly into the skin that you don't feel like you're wearing an oil as opposed to a thick oil like Jojoba. Rosehip oil also evens out the skin real nice, and is very light. I actually prefer avocado oil for my nails and hair.
@Rozberry
The PC's oil is really nice, I do prefer my Indie Lee's Squalane oil over it any day. You have majority of the oils listed on it, for the size of the bottle (its not too small..) I would just stick to making your own oil cocktails. It honestly feels like it's 80% jojoba oil and drops of the others. The ceramides are at the very bottom of the list so there is very little used.

Thank you so much for so much information, Kitty!! Especially for your suggestion. I was really surprised when I saw the ingredients on The Body Shop oil. Hopefully, Nathalie can find your favorite choice.

Thanks for the info kitty. So I could pass on this one then. Any other oil that you would recommend? Where do you buy them?

Peter Thomas Roth oilless oil is my hg and I have dry maturing skin. It doesn't irritate it no matter how sassy my skin is choosing to act on any given day. The only con is the price however I've had my bottle over a year and I use it nightly so it's actually dirt cheap in terms of per usage.

Ok, I wonder if Indie Lee or that is better. Looks very similar on paper.

Argan Oil light is my favorite and I've tried them all. It's the only one that doesn't irritate my skin. I do like Rosehip like Rozberry but not as much and Almond is much too sweet. And Omega 3s are life.
