So I've heard that wearing makeup causes fast aging. Is this true?

I wouldn't think so IF you are taking care of your skin properly. Take it all off at the end of the day, wash your face, moisturize, massage the face etc.etc.

Everyones skin is different and of course exposure to sun and wind are obviously going to age it faster. Somebody with drier skin could age faster than someone with oily skin. I don't makeup will cause aging necessarily but as long as you have a good skin routine (removing ALL makeup off, washing, moisturizing, sunscreen) then you shouldn't have to worry about it.

I don't think makeup causes aging. Although, it can definitely make you LOOK older. I actually think it might help slow down aging, but because there is a layer of makeup on your skin protecting your skin from environmental aggressors, like smoke , pollution & the sun. Of course, makeup isnt enough. A vitamin c serum & sunscreen are good choices to further protect your skin.

I don't think so. My grandma is 50 years old and wore makeup since she was in her early teens. Everyone thinks she's like in her early 40s.

She's the type that has slightly oily skin and wears a bunch of powder to combat it(even though, now they say powder ages you) even when she doesn't need much.
She'd wear liquid foundation and powder all the time. I find that if anything, it really just is a layer that blocks some of the suns rays which cause damage to bare skin from actually messing with your skin as much.

If you think back to ancient Egyptians and eyeliner, how the eyeliner helped prevent issues with the eyes caused by the sun I find it could makes sense in their case and in my grandmothers case when she wears makeup.

If you put foundation on glass, the foundation will make it hard to see through the glass if not even possible. So to me, makeup is like wearing a veil over the skin. Plus, now more makeup contains SPF which helps out more.

Just make sure you cleanse your skin very good an moisturizer. Don't ever rely on makeup to make your skin look better
