Ok but not worth the hype

I've heard so many incredible reviews about this product and so many people rave about it on their blogs and on Youtube! However to me, it was just like a regular moisturiser. It doesn't break me out or make me look oily but it does provide the perfect amount of moisture. I guess as a moisturiser, this product completes its purpose. However when it comes to moisturisers: for me i prefer to have products that not just moisturise, but provide some sort of brightening property or something that separates it from regular moisturisers. I guess my standards are high as i've already found a great moisturiser and i compared this to my current moisturiser, and it did not beat it. It is a good purchase for people that want a simple moisturiser, but for me i like to be blown away by the products i use :)

effective, but has side effects

The smell: Well, what can i say? Aussie is so far the best smelling hair product i've tried. It's like heaven... on holiday... :)

The consistency: Very watery. mostly a clear liquid but if you shake it a lot it may become white/frothy

The effectiveness: It protects very well and makes your hair smell fresh but it's really watery so it does dampen your hair and therefore using heat on damp hair may burn your hair slightly.

I've found better heat protectants, but the smell is just so great that it overrides any flaws. Plus it serves its purpose as a heat protectant.

DRY HAIR BE AWARE!

The smell: Absolutely incredible! It's not overly fragrant, however it has that subtle hint of fragrance that makes heads turn when you walk past them and make people wonder "...why can't i smell like that?"

The consistency: Very creamy and not too thick to the point where the product is wasted, so it lasts a while

Effectiveness: It definitely does what it says on the label. I have dry horse hair, but this product restores the nutrition and nourishes my hair. It leaves it soft, silky, shiny and healthy!

Would i re-purchase?: You bet your hydrated butt i'd re-purchase it :)

Please remember that your body may become tolerant to products, so each time you finish a product like a shampoo/conditioner/moisturiser e.t.c, try to buy a new one so that a) you experiment with new products to find something better b) your body actually receives the benefits of the products instead of building up a tolerance towards it, leaving the product helpless towards your body.

Goodbye bad hair days!

Firstly, let's start with the most obvious and intoxicating part of this product: THE SMELL! not just this product though: every single one of Aussie's products smells like heaven ^_^ Oh those good old Australians never fail to disappoint :) Actually i think this product was developed in America, but that's beside the point: IT'S GREAT!

This product conditions incredibly in yes - just three minutes! It's absolutely incredible and my hair is probably the most difficult thing to take care in the entire world. i have a full on afro (i am asian though) and it's dried up like a broomstick, but Aussie has restored my faith in good hair days! I love all of their products and, i'm not going to lie, i do sniff this product on occasion....

There's nothing they could improve and i love the product. Please make sure to squeeze the tube and not twist off the cap though because i made that mistake -.-

Definitely a good purchase and at a bargain price!

the best heat tamer i've ever tried

This is the best heat tamer to ever come across my vision. I am in love with this and it protects my hair so well without making the hair so damp that it fries when i straighten/curl it. It does not dry out my hair or make it crispy e.t.c. and actually softens my hair. It smells great and is not overly fragranced but gives my hair a fresher smell so it's great to use on second day hair also. It also lasts quite a long time Every other person that i know that has tried this product is also in love with this product. This includes people as young as 10 years old to my mum's friends who are now nearing the age of 60.

And all from a drugstore product :O Considering the price and the effectiveness: i'd buy this product like it's the last time they stock the shelves at your local beauty store!

Ok but not amazing. Gave me an infection.

First of all: the consistency and effectiveness of this product is Ok. I am such a huge fan of Maybelline, especially their mascaras, and i feel compared to the other Maybelline mascaras - this one is not so great. It does do it's job but it is not amazing. Considering the price & the hype it has received on reviews and videos worldwide: i would expect it to be better.

Personally, i got an infection in my eye afer using this product. I am sure it was this product as i did not change anything else in my beauty/make-up/lifetime regimen, and when i stopped using this: the infection cleared up. I used this again around 6 months later, and the infection came back, then cleared up when i stopped using it. This, however, is a PERSONAL experience and it has not happened to anyone else that i know. I have also read many great reviews about this product so it may be suited to other people, but for me, i did not prefer it.

moisturises but feels unsettling

Well let me start off by saying that carmex is a favourite brand of mine in terms of lipcare. I am going to be comparing this lipbalm to Nivea lipbalm today because in my reviews, i like to compare products to similar products (like the nivea lipbalm) that i know and love. Carmex does deliver it's purpose: to moisturise. The consistency is not too oily or creamy and so therefore it does not explode in your handbag and stays in a solid form. Please bear in mind that this is in England weather conditions: where it is quite cold. The consistency of the product may change depending on which climate you live in. It's not glossy and absorbs into your lips quickly. It smells strongly of chemicals but not to the point where you can smell it continuously: just when you first smell the tub. On your lips, the smell seems to disappear. It does not taste so great though, so for all you non-single ladies, i'd recommend using some sort of flavoured lipgloss e.t.c. on top of this. The only downside of this product is the fact that it leaves behind a stinging sensation: like a lip plumper. It doesn't hurt but it feels slightly weird and unnatural. Now this isn't necessarily a bad thing. My friends who use this product love that sensation, as to them it really feels like it's working on their lips. For me i do not mind the sensation. It is not a benefit nor a downside. Some people may be afraid of trying it out because of the tingling sensation because it may seem 'dangerous' but it is completely harmless.

As compared to my nivea lipbalm: i feel the nivea lipbalm heals and works a lot better than the carmex and i am yet to find a lipbalm that is better than the nivea one (trust me, i'm a lipbalm junkie). However the carmex is a good purchase if ever in need of a lipbalm e.g. in an emergency. Also, nivea lipbalm may seem too 'oily' to some people and in hot climate it melts and the tube does not contain it well. In the aspect of consistency: Carmex wins. In the aspect of effectiveness: Nivea wins.

Carmex is however a good purchase and i would definitely re-purchase it.

Good product, beneficial to skin

Personally i love mineral products and so i jumped at the opportunity of trying out this foundation. I have quite clear skin so i don't need much coverage and only use this to create a base rather than to cover anything up. Coverage wise, i think that this is a medium coverage foundation but to be fair powders can never cover up as much as liquids can so in all fairness, the coverage aspect of this product is great. I liked the formulation very much and i compared this to my holy grail foundation: sheercover mineral powder. That is probably the best mineral make-up range out there and so it was difficult for the bare minerals powder to compete with Sheercover, however i felt that this fared pretty well. The sheercover powder was generally better than the bare minerals powder as it covered more and caked less whereas the bareminerals caked more and covered less. Sheercover made my make-up look natural whereas bareminerals could be overpowering if not used carefully. I think for more professional or skilled make-up artists or for people that are very familiar with make-up like myself - the bareminerals is a good purchase. However for make-up beginners, this may be hard to work with. Generally speaking, mineral powder is harder to work in because of the buffing aspect anyway, but for skilled people i think that this product is great. Considering the price, colour range and availability of this product - it is one of the best mineral powders you could try.
