Beauty Product Reviews

Totally works but very harsh

I won this product in a Glamour magazine contest and it came with a whole set of Philosophy skincare products. Although it wasn't the product I was most excited to try, I was most excited to try out the Philosophy Purity Cleanser, it turns out that this was the only product in the set that I actually liked. This eye cream works to diminish fine lines and that's exactly what it does, I noticed that any fine lines under my eyes were gone within a few days. I also like to apply it to any dry skin patches because it increases the skin cell turnover and my dry skin is gone within a day or two. This product's only downfall is that it is very harsh and sometimes it leaves the skin around my eyes feeling overly delicate and sensitive. I do recommend this product for anybody who is looking to rid themselves of fine lines but if you have sensitive skin around your eyes be weary!

Okay palette. Not a must-have.

I bought this palette during the second batch of releases and I was really excited because I absolutely love the Naked palette. However, when I got it I was really disappointed. While the quality is still just as amazing and the packaging is improved, the textures of the shades are not what I expected. A majority of the shades are shimmer or glitter and the shades aren't easily combined. I hardly reach for this palette because the colors aren't extremely flattering so I wouldn't recommend spending all the money on it.

My Favorite Palette

Perfect palette for anybody who loves neutral colors. The palette is packaged in a velvet/cardboard box with a magnetic close. The shadows themselves are highly pigmented and creamy. They stay on all day with the help of shadow primer and don't budge. There are shimmer, glitter and matte shades and the way the palette is broken up you can see which colors are easily mixed together. The brush that is included in the palette is okay but I'd purchase my own eye brushes because there's not much you can do with the regular shader brush. This is my favorite palette for everyday looks because these are colors that anybody can wear on a daily basis. I highly recommend this palette to anybody who is looking to invest in a good neutral palette because this has a great combination of shades and textures.

Easy to wear all-over lid color

I have this product in the shade Kitten, one of Stila's best-known shades. It's a shimmery pinky nude and works great as everything from an all-over color to a highlight shade. The packaging is not to die for, it's a plain black snap-close shadow case but it feels fairly secure and durable. The product itself is a powder with a cream texture and applies easily and evenly. I love using this as an all-over lid color for everyday makeup looks.

One of my favorite bronzers

I've just hit pan on this bronzer and I absolutely love it. I bought this as part of a Benefit value set from Sephora so I got a pretty good deal on it. The product is a light matte bronzer that works great as an all-over bronzer or as a contour shade for light skin tones. It's a very flattering natural bronzer and I use it almost every day as part of my makeup routine. The brush that is included is terrible but if you use a big fluffy brush, the product is easily blended into the skin. You can build up the color if you wanted, but I usually use one dusting of it all over to warm my face up. I definitely recommend this bronzer because it's hard to find a matte bronzer that isn't too dark or fake looking.

Good Simple Cleanser

I won this product from a Glamour magazine sweepstakes and I was super excited to try it out because I'd heard such great things about it. My initial reaction toward the product was that it was very light and milky but it had this weird herbal scent. I can't stand herbal smells so that was a definite turn off for me. As I continued to use the product I noticed that it didn't break me out but at the same time it didn't do anything for my skin. I know that this product isn't cheap so I would expect it to work better than something I can get at the drugstore but I've tried drugstore cleansers that do more for me than this cleanser. Another thing I hate about this product is that if you get it in your mouth it tastes awful and bitter, and since I use this in the shower it's very easy for even a tiny bit to get on my lips I'll end up tasting it. I would recommend this product to anybody who has super sensitive skin but other than that I'd say go with a drugstore cleanser that's more effective and costs about half the price.

No Frills Lip Butter

I have this lip butter in Mint and it does what it's supposed to do: hydrate your lips. I like to use this lip butter throughout the day for whenever my lips get dry because it's easy to slip inside my bag and it doesn't take up much space. I also like that it's made from organic ingredients but besides that it's nothing special.

Multifunctional and very moisturizing

Aquaphor is one of the most moisturizing lotions I've ever used and it's great that you can use it for your hands, for your lips and for just about anywhere. I slather this stuff on my lips every night before I go to sleep and I've noticed a huge improvement, my lips went from being dry and flaky one night to smooth and soft the next morning. This cream's only downfall is how sticky it is, it's like having glue on your hands. While you can use this product on your hands, it's so annoying how after you apply it your hands get very sticky and tacky feeling, that's why I like to keep this lotion at home and only apply it to my hands and lips right before I'm going to bed.

Can't live without them

I love these little hand sanitizers. They come in a ton of different wonderful smelling scents and they fit perfectly inside my bag. I typically hate the alcohol scent of hand sanitizers and that's why I never used them, but these have great smells like peach and vanilla to cover the alcohol scent up so it's more bearable and definitely more enjoyable. Some of my favorite scents are warm vanilla sugar, fresh picked peach and paris amour.

Prevents smudging, creasing and lasts all day!

I really love this product and I'm so happy that they changed the packaging from the potion bottle to this squeeze tube. The original shade is a sheer nude and works as a natural base for eye shadows. I have monolids so a good eye primer is a must and this one has never failed me. Having a monolid means that my eyelash line tucks underneath my eyelid so there's definitely a lot of smudging going on. Without this product, waterproof liners and eyeshadows don't last two minutes on me, but with it, I have no problem with any of my eye makeup throughout the day. I definitely recommend this product because it's amazing. The only thing you should be wary of is that if you have really dry eyes it tends to cake up around the dry areas so make sure you moisturize!
