Reviews
Of course I tried this cleanser after reading hundreds of positive reviews on it! I picked up a little sample bottle at Sephora by the check out line, and I'm glad I didn't spring for the 16 oz like I originally was going to do! This cleanser is simple gentle face wash. I couldn't tell a difference in my skin after using this. It did the same thing as the drug store cleanser I used before this one. It didn't lather as nicely as I would have liked either. I still have some product left in the bottle, the Sephora sales women who checked me out commented how she uses it to clean her brushes. Perhaps I'll try that instead.
Good Simple Cleanser
I won this product from a Glamour magazine sweepstakes and I was super excited to try it out because I'd heard such great things about it. My initial reaction toward the product was that it was very light and milky but it had this weird herbal scent. I can't stand herbal smells so that was a definite turn off for me. As I continued to use the product I noticed that it didn't break me out but at the same time it didn't do anything for my skin. I know that this product isn't cheap so I would expect it to work better than something I can get at the drugstore but I've tried drugstore cleansers that do more for me than this cleanser. Another thing I hate about this product is that if you get it in your mouth it tastes awful and bitter, and since I use this in the shower it's very easy for even a tiny bit to get on my lips I'll end up tasting it. I would recommend this product to anybody who has super sensitive skin but other than that I'd say go with a drugstore cleanser that's more effective and costs about half the price.
In love
I have tried tons of facial cleansers and it seemed no matter how much i washed my face with the make up would never fully come off after trying this product for the first time after watching an youtube review ( bought a small bottle just to try I didn't expect much from the product) I am absolutely in love it do not take much product for it to work my skin feels smooth and the smell so great I will never switch to anything else
Holy Grail Cleanser
I first tried this out in a Birchbox, but I have since repurchased the full size, and I cannot get enough of this! It's really helped get my acne-prone skin under control without totally stripping my skin of oil. I can't see myself switching out my cleanser any time soon - if you have acne prone skin, you need to try this!
I took home the smallest size and it smelled like heaven, made my skin feel soft, and didn't make washing my face seem like such a chore. It was kind of pricey for the larger size, so when my budget gets bigger I'll try it for longer than what the 8 oz could provide and review it again.
A dud cleanser for dry and flaky skin
I seriously do not know why so many people raved about this product. It is a very basic oil-based(5-10 different oils) multi-cleanser. I got this cause I heard about the great reviews especially when use with Clarisonic and since I was getting my Orchid Blossom shower gel, I might as well give Purity a chance. The first few times I used it, I broke out. From a clear no blemish skin, I broke out within the third usage. I never ever broke out from a product before so this took me by a HUGE surprise. It was an acne happy hour. I stop using Purity and my face cleared up again after a couple of days. It did take off my makeup but it stings my eyes like crazy. I posted a topic on the forum here and Angela W.(another Beautylish member) replied saying that dry and flaky skin tends to clog and trap oils so exfoliation is a must. I gave Purity another chance carefully following Angela's advice and yay, no breakouts. This does foam up on me and there is sulfate(enemy for my dry flaky skin) so I won't be repurchasing this. You don't need a lot of the product to cleanse for the light makeup face. I'm not too crazy about the scent either. It is just a typical soap scent to me. Another reason for not repurchasing is also cause I feel like I am constantly on my toes with my skin when I use this. Side note: Not a yay for me after all. I developed a couple of red bumps. Gonna see if the sulfate in it is the cause of the bumps.
Pros • Cleanse well • Leave the skin clean and soft • Basic multi-cleanser • Makeup brush cleaner
Cons • Slightly pricy for a non-natural basic multi-cleanser • Red bumps occurred after a week therefore not as gentle as claimed • Sulfate • Acne carnival for dry and flaky skin • Stings the eyes
