Beauty Product Reviews

this stuff does a great job of removing makeup including waterproof mascara. massage onto dry face and then rinse off with water. be careful when using around the eyes as it can make your eyes cloudy. also noticed that it can make hair along the hairline oily so would recommend using a hairband to keep hair out of the way.

although this does take off all your makeup, i unfortunately feel like i still need to use a cleanser to get my skin nice and clean afterwards...which i am honestly too lazy for. don't want to wash my face twice!

being that i don't wear a full face of makeup daily, this oil based cleanser isn't a necessity for me... but it definitely works.

meh.

been a long time user of the st.ives apricot scrub as it is economical and effective. i picked this up along with my usual 'blemish and blackhead control' one as it was on sale and i wanted to give it a try.

i found this to be so much more drying than the 'blemish & blackhead control' one. it left my face feeling tight and dry. and there was an increased amount of redness around my nose as well. did not notice any significant improvements to my skin; i ended up using the whole tube just for the hell of it but will not be repurchasing again.

best bang for buck.

love all things minty. certainly not a miracle worker but you will notice a difference in your skin if you start using this.

love the tingly minty sensation. this does help with acne [sometimes i will dab some on pimples and leave overnight]. as for stubborn blackheads this certainly helps but does not get rid of them completely.

for the price you can't really complain. great for oily/combo skin.

no thanks.

this stuff wreaked havoc on my skin. these products irritated my combo-oily/sensitive-acneprone skin and made it feel awful. this did not help with my acne and dried out my skin so that it was flakey and itchy.

never had much luck with clinique products.

love the way this smells!

after going to lush to pick up my usual skin cleansers the lovely sales associate gave me a sample of this conditioner. i am already using the Rehab Shampoo, so i thought i'd give it a try. she gave me a very generous amount so i was able to use it a few times.

i have fine long straight hair. ends are a little dry with some split ends but roots/scalp can be quite oily. the SA recommended i place the conditioner midshaft as i normally do with other conditioners so that's what i did. i scooped out Retread and concentrated it mostly on the ends; there isn't much slip so i can understand why the previous reviewer said she felt like nothing was there. i gently massaged it into my hair and left it on for a few minutes and rinsed it out.

after drying i found my hair to be nice and soft and i looovvee the way this smells. it just smells nice and clean to me. and the scent really sticks for a while so if you sniff it in the store and don't like it, don't bother. don't know if it's just me but even the day after i can still smell the scent of Retread in my hair.

paired with Rehab Shampoo my hair is feeling softer, smoother and much healthier. don't think i will ever go back to using conventional shampoos. definitely ask for a sample!

lovelovelove.

fresh farmacy is the first lush cleanser i've tried. it is gentle and calming and i really like the way it smells. i usually slice up the bar that i purchase into smaller pieces as i find it easier to use. consistency is nice and creamy. [this isn't meant to lather up with foam or anything so don't expect it to.]

i quickly run the bar under water and rub into the palm of my hands. if i'm lazy i just rub the wet bar onto my [damp] face. afterwards i gently massage all over and rinse off. skin is calm and smooth. i alternate this with Angels On Bare Skin and i have really noticed a difference in my skintone and texture. acne has been diminished and the bad spots are healing and scars are fading.

be sure to allow soap to dry in a dish or lush tin. can get mushy if left in water. highly recommend for problematic skin with issues like acne and redness.

i <3 AOBS

i have combo-oily [tzone] / sensitive acne prone skin. AOBS is amazing. it is so gentle and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth. it contains a lot of soothing ingredients [like lavender!] which i love.

i use a pea sized amount with a few drops of water and make a paste in my hand before gently massaging into my face. i give it a good minute or so before washing off. texture is creamy with some granules in it. if afraid of a mess i would recommend using in the shower.

AOBS has also helped to calm the redness around my nose and has helped to bring down the crazy pimple breakouts that i seem to be having this past little while. would highly recommend for anyone looking for a gentle yet effective cleanser; if your skin is extremely oily, i would recommend trying Dark Angels or Coal Face instead.
