6 Danessa Myricks Beauty Products You Need to Try

You may not know Danessa Myricks yet, but chances are you’ve seen her products gracing the faces of models on Instagram and in magazine spreads. The makeup artist, photographer, and entrepreneur launched her eponymous beauty brand Danessa Myricks Beauty just three years ago, and industry pros have been flocking to it ever since.

The reason? Danessa makes beauty products with her fellow MUAs in mind. Her line focuses on high-performance, multipurpose formulas that meet the demands of the beauty industry. Inclusivity is a core value for Danessa Myricks Beauty—as a Black woman, Danessa is vocal about the lack of representation that people of color face in the beauty community. So, we wanted to share some of the most buzzed-about products in her collection.

ColorFix 24-Hour Cream Color

Think of this genius product as paint for your skin. ColorFix 24-Hour Cream Color is a creamy liquid pigment that comes in four finishes (Matte, Metallic, Foil, and Glaze) and a rainbow of pigment-heavy colors that you can use anywhere—eyes, face, lips, and body. Not only is ColorFix intensely long-lasting, it’s also waterproof, sweatproof, and smudgeproof, so it’ll last through a full day on set (or binging Netflix, whatever). Grab a few shades and blend them together to customize endless colors—your imagination is the only limit.

Dew Wet Balm

If we could recommend one product for achieving glass skin, Dew Wet Balm is it. It’s a highlighter with the consistency of a hydrating balm, so it melts into skin with that dewy, slightly glossy finish that you get right after you moisturize. There are five shades, including Clear (a clear, non-shimmery gloss), Holy Water (holographic pearl), Hot Water (peachy tan), Morning Dew (golden pearl), and Rosewater (rose gold).

Vision Cream Cover

With Vision Cream Cover, you’ll always have the right shade of foundation in your kit. It’s a cream complexion product that comes in a wide range of shades that you can blend together to do just about anything —from concealing blemishes to sculpting and contouring. You can use it alone as a full-coverage foundation or concealer, mix it with moisturizer for a sheer skin tint, or blend it along the curves of the face to contour and highlight. The “Transformer” shades are perfect for tweaking foundation to get a perfect shade match. Choose TO to add an olive undertone, TW to lighten, or TP to add warmth.

Illuminating Veil

This liquid-cream highlighter is a must-have for creating the glowing, luminous skin for which Danessa Myricks is known. Illuminating Veil works as a stand-alone highlighter, or you can mix it into foundation to create a radiant finish. The luminous pigments are finely milled for a shimmery (not glittery) sheen. But, it is a concentrated product—if you want a more subtle glow, we’d recommend applying under your foundation as a primer. Illuminating Veil comes in eight shades including some deep-toned options for dark skin (which are often sorely missed in highlighter offerings).

Vision Flush

It’s hard to describe Vision Flush. It’s a lot like a liquid blush that creates a wash of color on the skin and dries down to a transferproof, satin-matte finish. But unlike some blushes, Vision Flush is truly multipurpose; it plays well on skin, eyes, even lips. What’s especially nice about this product is that it’s easy to sheer out or build up in layers for your desired intensity, and then it dries down without the dewy, tacky finish that’s common with multipurpose color products.

Light Work Palette

We’ll admit, we’re suckers for a good highlighting palette, so our love for Danessa Myricks’ Light Work Palette was meant to be. Available in two colorways (Light Work I and Light Work II), this palette comes with six generously sized pans of powder highlighter with a creamy, emollient-like feel. The shades blend into skin with an opaque, metallic sheen. Use a fluffy brush for sheer payoff, or your fingers for a bold swipe of ultra-reflective color.
