Ah, the Vision Cream Cover. A true gem from Danessa Myricks Beauty. I get amazing skin and makeup days everytime I use this and it makes me so excited to review! This can be used as a concealer and foundation and to be quiet frank, to get the best results, it’s best to mix two shades.
Size: The bottle is a bit over .5 oz/15ml which isn’t the standard size of a foundation (1oz/30ml). But only looking at this detail doesn’t do the product any justice. You need a pea size amount to cover your entire face and that’s if you want full coverage so the smaller size (and better price point) works perfectly for me. Being the makeup enthusiast that I am, I feel good knowing that owning this foundation in two shades doesn’t put a huge whole in my pocket.
Finish: It is a matte finish. I have severely dry skin and prefer a dewy finish to my foundation. It’s much easier to go from matte to dewy than vice versa so I don’t mind that initial application doesn’t provide the finish I’m looking for. What I like to do is use the Danessa Myricks Beauty Oil or the Cover FX Hydration Drops and it instantly transforms into a dewy finish.
Application: You get wiggle room to blend but other than that I highly recommend working in smaller areas of your face to ensure you get the results you want. I’ve thrown this on when I’m rushing to get out the door and had no problems with application.
This is also an extremely long-wearing foundation and I have smile lines that crease with almost every foundation I use but not this one which makes me pleasantly surprised. I can get a good 10-14 hour wear out of this foundation before I need to touch up.
Lastly, I like a very light coverage, radiant finish and use less than a pea size amount. I'm shades N06 and W04.
Definitely a new holy grail for me!!
I love everything about this foundation. This is the best match to my skin color I have ever found. It gives great coverage without feeling heavy. It blends like a dream it does not crease at all. I even used this under my eyes. This looks just as good after 6 hours as it did after first applying.i would not say it is a matte finish. It is just perfect. I used it over her hydrating primer, which adds a nice glow!
What a great surprise this foundation turned out to be. I took a chance and messaged Danessa, because I was unsure of what color to get. She sent me a chart, to help, and it did. N07 is a perfect match.
First know, a little bit goes a long way. It's concentrated, and thick, so you need very little to cover your whole face. It blends out easily for me. I've had no issues. While it says you can build up for full coverage, I was able to achieve it with one layer. It is that pigmented, yet natural. It also covered dark spots with ease.
I love wearing it on top Danessa's beauty oil. It gives me a nice, dewy look. I am just incredibly impressed. I didnt expect such a phenomenal finish. When I want full coverage, without the heaviness that often brings, I'll definitely be turning to this foundation. This has been one of my favorite makeup surprises this year.
So before I get started I have at least 8 foundations on my counter for personal use. I also have 6 concealers.
Danessa Myricks Vision Cream Cover is my rehabilitation. Once I do my skincare routine I have so many options using the product. Once I use her refining get, I can use it alone. And I am happy.
Yet, my favorite way to use Vision Cream Cover is to blend (a bead, not full pump) with a drop of DM Beauty Oil. I can use it under my eyes and it's flawless.
I usually get compliments on my makeup. Not anymore, now people are saying, "Your skin is so beautiful." They can't tell it's a foundation, and Enlight Powder and Evolution Powder.....
A little bit goes a loooooooong way and wears all day. I wear Fenty 385. I'm actually about to fill up my cart with more Danessa Myricks goodies.
This shade was alittle light for my nc10 face just for a point of reference. I do have dry mature skin and although this did not work for me all over my face even when mixed with DM oil or a moisturizer it does seem to be ok as a concealer. It’s has a very thick consistency, it’s long wearing and although the description does not confirm it appears to be water proof on me.
The coverage is gorgeous. It does not settle or crease. This product is concentrated. A little goes a very long way. It can be sheared down by mixing with my Sonia Roselli products or layered for more coverage.
Ignoring the fact I chose the completely wrong shade, I found the foundation gave me a very natural finish (using Artis brushes), and seemed to act like a tint, warming up my skin, rather than cover my flaws. I didn't use much as a tiny dot spread far and I do not do the caked on look!
For reference, if you are a Mac NC45 Fenty 370 Hourglass Natural Amber ... Then this is probably too dark.
On first application it just looked very orange (this happens when I use Hourglass Warm Almond which this shade is similar to), but it has calmed down to a nice realistic shade. I can just about get away with it, blending foundation all the way down my neck, but if I could go back I'd probably try W04 (however knowing me I'll probably have to mix the two together).
I mix W06 and W05 for my perfect shade. I stipple on the foundation and buff in the Evolution Powder, #3 for the center of my face and #4 for the perimeter of my face. The finish looks airbrushed. I never received so many compliments about my skin before finding this foundation. I found my holy grail!
I mix W05 and W06 for my perfect shade. A little really does go a long way. I stipple on the foundation and buff in my Danessa Myricks Evolution Powder, #3 in the middle of my face and #4 on my cheeks and perimeter of my face. I have never gotten more compliments then when I wear this foundation.
The colour undertone is a great match. The consistency is too thick making it hard to apply and blend on the face. I did prep my face with moisturiser and CoverFX primer. I tried with brush and with sponge, but it was just too patchy.
