Obsessed: LORAC PRO Palette

1051

Every year, without fail, some well-meaning family member likes to buy me a generic “kit” of makeup for my birthday or Christmas. I appreciate the logic—the more makeup, the better, right? But often these oversized train cases feature questionable products and barely enough product to get a brush full. Suffice to say I’m reluctant to believe that a compact full of shadows can actually be a good thing.

A girl can change her mind, though, and for me, the truth serum was LORAC’s PRO Palette. After scouring the earth for the line’s limited edition GloGetter compact this spring (now sold out), the PRO Palette was next on my wish list—and dare I say, it may be my favorite shadow palette ever.

The mirrored compact looks professional, with a sleek black matte frame that bears silver lettering and a magnetic hinge. It’s small and sturdy enough to make itself at home in your bag for touch-ups on the go. Not that you’ll need touching up, since these shadows seem to stay put with or without the included eye primer sample. Inside are 16 versatile shades: 8 matte neutrals in the top row and 8 more shimmery and colorful hues in the bottom row. The selection of creams and pinks are perfect highlighters. The browns give you that natural, doe-eyed look and the dark purple, espresso, black, and slate shades can give you numerous variations on a smokey eye.

Like most everything from LORAC, the shadows are well-saturated and easily blendable for dozens of mix-and-match options that run from sweet to sultry—all in one place (you can see I’m starting to understand the great benefits palettes hold!) While the colors all complement one another, they’re also varied enough to suit any eye color and skin tone.

I liked playing around with the palette so much I came up with some go-to color combos. Here are a few of my favorites!
