Suno

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012
MAKEUP

Suno commanded the runway for spring 2012 with their mastery of prints. Florals, geometry, lace, and abstract designs all came together for an eclectic mix of separates and dresses. MAC makeup artist Carole Colombani was backstage creating the makeup for the show, inspired by adolescence and change: "Young girls coming of age and maturing into women."

Carole first hydrated and illuminated the skin with MAC Studio Moisture Cream. Then, she buffed MAC Matchmaster SPF 15 Foundation into the skin. She highlighted the high planes of the face with MAC Cream Eye Shadow in Cake mix (available spring/summer 2012).

She swept MAC Eye Shadow in Bisque over the eyelids for a base, then blended Copperplate and Satin Taupe eye shadows in a halo shape around the eyes. She applied MAC Pro Shine Mixing Medium over the eyelids for a light sheen.

To camouflage the outer edge of the lips, Carole applied MAC Studio Finish Concealer. She then blended MAC Lipmix in Pro Red through the center of the lip for a "bitten" effect.

HAIR

The overall look for hair was feminine, with loose curls wrapped in a stylish chignon. “We wanted to create a feminine, soft and modern look that is stylish and perfect for spring," said lead hair stylist Odile Gilbert. Learn how to get the look with these steps.

GET THE LOOK

  1. Work Kérastase Mousse Volumactive into hair to add texture.

  2. Blow dry hair away from face while creating a textured, wavy bouffant on top.

  3. Pull hair on the sides tight, securing in the back of head with bobby pins.

  4. Spray Kérastase Double Force Hair Spray for a workable hold.

  5. Twist hair into a chignon at the nape of the neck, securing with bobby pins.

  6. Finish with Kérastase Elixir Ultime for shine and Double Force Controle Ultime Hair Spray for extra hold.

NAILS

The Haven Spa nail team was inspired by the transition of a young girl to a woman. They created simple yet elegant nails painted in Essie Nail Polish in Main Squeeze, an iridescent pink. The team painted one coat on nails and two coats on toes for varying opacity. Both were finished with Essie Good to Go Fast Drying Topcoat and Essie Quick-E Drying Drops.
