At the Fall 2011 Versace show, Redken Creative Consultant Guido Palau created a super straight, center-parted, minimalist hairstyle to complement the collection. “The Versace look this season is without reference, but still looks rich and elegant without being done. It’s very minimal but also very rich at the same time. It’s nice to see straight-ironed down looks that are still controlled,” says Guido. Keep reading for tips on how to get this look, plus more backstage pics.

Hair Tutorial Milan Fashion Week, Fall 2011: Sleek Center Parts at Versace

  1. Start with a clean center part.

  2. Take bits on either side on head just in front of the ears and secure underneath rest of hair at nape of the neck to create a pulled back effect.

  3. Prep hair with Redken Hot Sets 22 Thermal Setting Mist to protect it from heat, pulling sections on either side and ponying it off under the hair.

  4. Flat iron hair until it’s super straight.

  5. Finish with Redken Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist.
