Once you’ve made the big chop with a fresh short cut, it can be difficult to find alternatives to styling your strands. Luckily, we’ve got three simple ideas that will dress up your ‘do for any summer occasion!
THE MESSY UPDO
First, tease the hair at the crown of your head to create volume. Then, pin up your hair into small sections, leaving the front strands loose to frame your face. For an extra dash of bohemian flare, try braiding your bangs!
THE TWIST
If you’re not into a braid, try a twist! Remove the fringe off your face by gradually winding small sections of your fringe. Take a couple of bobby pins and pin the coiled strands in place. This style is great for acne-prone foreheads!
THE SWEEPBACK
Part your hair to the side, and brush the shorter half of your mane back behind your ear. Carefully secure with bobby pins. Then, add volume to the opposite side by backcombing your roots with a comb. Use your favorite hairspray to set the style in place. For extra texture, we suggest looping the ends of your hair with a curling wand.
