Hey! I was just wondering... What do you guys think is the proper way to handle a siguation where you got to a professional hair stylist and they completely ruin your hair. What do you do? Do you still pay? Do you tell them to fix it? Do you not pay? Sometimes its a couple hundreds of dollars worth and you end up unsatisfied. Anyway, just wondering what you would do... :)

^ agreed. Researching stylists is a great way to avoid the situation.

It depends how they ruined it. if its just a shade off of a color, I wouldn't do as much as if they fried it while bleaching it. if they fried it I wouldn't pay and I'd prolly cause a scene lol.

Well I ain't the time too cause a scene or anything like that. If they.. Fried/cut too much off/ or did the wrong color(or exactly something you just wasn't wanting) honestly I wouldn't care. They can't help it if they mess it up, wear I get my hair done there all students. And it's hair , people act like it's their life on the line if something happens to it. The ONLY way I would Maybe cause a scene is if I went to a very popular, high end, very expensive salon (best of the best here lol) and they screwed up my hair , I would be very disappointed then.

It depends. If they completely ignore the cut I wanted, I wouldn't pay till they corrected it.
But I had an experience last summer where I was getting my whole head bleached, trying to get red hair dye out. I went to a decently priced but still higher end place. My mom was paying as it was my birthday gift to get my hair done. She called the place for a quote, they said 100$ for just the bleaching and toning with someone with my hair length. I got there, I confirmed with the lady that she had discussed with my mom to make sure it wasn't going to change, she said yes everything has been spoken with her. 4-5 hours of bleaching later, I was blonde, and my mom came to pay. She got up to the counter to pay, and another lady started blow drying my hair. I heard my mom getting pissed off, and went to go see what was happening. As it turns out, the lady had just told her it was going to be 170$. She tried to use the excuse of "it was more time consuming than I thought it would be" and she claimed that my hair was longer than my mom had said (it wasn't, she had described it as mid back over the phone, it was to my mid back) and was refusing to stick to the original price. Both me and my mom were extremely pissed off, as we don't have a lot of money and 70$ is a huge increase. About 20 minutes of arguing later, she didn't lower the price but gave us a free bottle of shampoo and conditioner (which was worth about 25$ in total) and needless to say she didn't get a tip and we've never gone back.
If she had said when I arrived that it was longer than she quoted for, or during that it was going to cost more because of how long it took, then I would have walked away and not had any issues. But because she didn't say anything, or notify my mom that it was going to increase in price it was extremely rude and bad service. Not only did I not get what I wanted, since she was going to tone my hair but she wanted 40$ for that because she would have had to stay late, but I had chemical burns all over my scalp and neck from her not knowing what she was doing. My hair was so damaged after that (my hair can stand a ton of bleach, but she did not know what she was doing at all), I had to pay another 80$ to get a ton of it trimmed off. If we could have without having security called on us, we would have just walked away and not paid. Her bitchy attitude and rude comments at the end were not worth even 10$.

Almost all my hairdressing experiences have been bad, can't remember the last time they cut my hair the way I asked. I went in for a haircut about 6 months ago and came out and couldn't even see my fringe anymore so were talking short and before that my hair was mid back. Don't know what she thought I said but I didn't ask for my money back or anything like that, I was a little bit rude when I left and ended up bawling my eyes out on the drive home cause short hair on me is just gross / I know people say " it's just hair" but if you're anything like me and spend a lot of time working on it and growing it then you're going to be angry when they screw it up. Since I can't rely on hairdressers I do my own hair and it's been better since then :)

I feel your pain. It took me YEARS to find someone that cut my hair to my liking. I've had high end salons butcher me- literally gave me a mullet when I asked for a trim! Pictures help, but don't guarantee the exact cut. Hopefully you'll come across someone that makes you feel awesome. Every girl deserves to feel their absolute best stepping out of a salon. If you are ever not happy, be straight forward and address it with them. Any truly professional place will work with you to make you happy. Good luck hun!!
