Lately I've been experimenting more with my eye makeup. Meaning more mascara than usual and started doing the cat eye look. But when it comes to the evening and I have to take off my make up there's quite a bit of build up in the inner corners of my eyes. If you get what I mean. There's like small black bits of mascara and little things in my eye. Is this normal? Can anyone explain?

Personnaly I tend to have that when I put to much makeup and if my eye water. I think it's normal :) But it doesn't happen with my mascara but with my eyeliner.

I use to get those all the time in my early teens and now I don't get them anymore. and omg I feel so old to be able to say early teens :( I'm in my last year being a teenager! its just hitting me!! :'(((

Don't put it straight on the bottom lid do it right were your lashes are and it won't build up in the corner so bad

I get that all the time, it's just a build up of eyeliner and mascara and whatever:) if youre going to try and remove them with your fingers, make sure your hands are clean to ensure you don't get eye infections:)

I think it's all about washing your face properly and using a good face cleansers. I always wipe my eyes with makeup remover first before washing it. Then I use Purity by Philosophy and use my Clarisonic Mia2. It really cleans my face.

It is about washing your face for some people, no reason to shoot her down...that's just what works for Mylene. For me, I get that when I do wear more heavy makeup so I'd say it's normal after having it on all day.

Does your liner hold really well? maybe with a product that won't budge, the color can't slip into your inner corners as much? :)

This is what happens when I get slow signal at work and multitasking. Good thing my patients are always in good sleep when I read posts and the signal is annoying. I don't have to give PRN myself. Lol.
Karen, I also have the tendency to have that black thingy in the inner corners of my eyes esp if I'm wearing heavy eye makeup. It was a pain in the butt but now I noticed that if I put setting powder first on my oily lids, my mascara and eyeliner will stay in place and no bits of those in my eyes. And same here, I've been experimenting different eye looks from light to heavy. Here's my heavy eye look with setting powder technique I used. No oily lids or black bits, and my eye makeup lasted for whole day.

Yup, I get it too. I usually use my finger and lightly drag across my eye to remove the film and any makeup stuck to it (I wear contacts frequently so I am used to touching my eye; this is probably not advisable for non-users). It usually only happens when I wear liner on the waterline (despite the liner being waterproof and also not migrating; not sure how it gets into the corner).
I have no clue how to stop it, unfortunately. It may have something to do with the shape of our eyes, maybe our lower lid turns slightly inward? Who knows. Frustrating as hell!

If you have long nails and don't want to stick them into your eye, a cotton tip bud works just as well to remove. It's a good sign as your eyes are keeping themselves clean :) x
