Is it normal for my hair to hurt after I've had it in a ponytail for at least 2- 3 hours?

If it's a high pony, I fix the hair beneath it with either a small clip or snap barrette that matches my hair color. This provides support and keeps the pony in place without tugging so you can wear it a bit more loose and still keep it stylish.
