I have curly hair, type 3b and I've been noticing that my hair has been getting 'looser' like I don't have the tight curls I used to have. I've been letting my hair grow and it's up to my waist right now (dry). Is it because it lacks volume or it's getting long? Should I cut it? Please help. Thanks :)

It might be because of the weight when it's down.

I agree with Sarah. Have you considered long layers for volume and a bit more bounce?

@Rozberry J.; I have, but I've had plenty of bad experiences with trying out new hair cuts and I'm scared it might look bad again.

Time for a trim ☺
I don't recommend layers, I have ethnic hair and to be honest - curls have volume on their own. It's too much volume and most will make layers like they would on someone with straight hair especially since a lot of hair dressers assume that I will just straighten my hair 24/7 as a lot of women with my hair type do. My shortest layer was the length of my pinky, quite the horror as my curls were sticking UP.

@Kitty K.; my hair does that too. It shrivels up. I think it is time for a cut. Thank you guys :)
