My theme is also Great Gatsby I have a photo posted of my dress if you'd like to see it 😊
I think your dress is very unique- personally it's not my style (never been one for princess/cupcake style dresses) but to each their own.
I don't think you will look "stupid" just unique. For prom most girls go with more form fitting dresses and if they do wear a poufy one usually it's pink/coral/blue. I think your dress is very dark and romantic.
With awesome hair and makeup you'll be the belle of the ball. 😊

I do not think it is in keeping with the period or theme. That said, it's a stunning gown. Not a dress..that is a gown..one Cinderella herself would be delighted to wear. So worry not about the theme and let the decorations focus on that aspect. You will look beautiful. I wouldn't anticipate haters. What an awful way to bring negativity to such a joyful occasion. In this forum we don't all share the same tastes or views and it is important to remember that one who may disagree with us, politely so, does not necessarily envy us or dislike us. Of course no one at the event should speak ill of your choices. That would be tactless in every conceivable fashion.

Wear it in confidence..hoping everyone else loves it as much as you do...but not needing them to. That freedom of thought is the key to self-confidence. Have a wonderful time. :)
