So yesterday I jokingly said that we should start a support group for people new to the RCMA favorites palettes.

So this is a thread for that.

My experience with the product so far:
I spent some time blending the colors in the pallette together to come up with the best match for my skin. When I got a formula I liked I would scoop out the amounts of each and blend them on the lid of the palette. Then I tried using my fingers and a beauty blender first (as per advice from an awesome beautylish staffer.) That worked but it's slow. It took me a couple minutes just to concoct a color that looked right, then about 10 minutes to do my whole face in it. 15 minutes is my total make up time most days. So I experimented with different brushes and found that I could put the makeup with a flat paddle concealer brush, (my foundation brush was too big to even fit in the pansl) and blend it with my flat top brush, it was faster. But it took too much blending to really look good and I had some dry patches develop do to micro derm abrasion.
So yesterday I went to Target and picked up this Elf Studio Flawless Concealer brush. It's basically a big domed eye shadow brush but made out of a synthetic fiber. The damn thing actually works! I can apply and blend with one tool and the brush picks up just the right amount of product without needing too much work to blend in. The only thing is it's a POS $3 brush that isn't even cut well (it's not even perfectly rounded in the elf advertising photos!). So now I'm looking for something better when this fails.
Also the other issue I'm having is setting. I tried to powder with a very light hand, but I over did it and it looked mask-y. I used the NYX matte setting spray today which looked much better but my redness is starting to pop through in a few places. I'm wondering if powdering before foundation and setting with the spray will be the magic key.

Anyway, sorry for typing such a book. I'm looking forward to hearing how the products are working for you guys.

I have a lot of foundations: MAC Pro Longwear , two mineral foundations (don't use either anymore!), Paula's Choice all bases covered, Aveda Inner Light and Dual active powder to cream pancake. I started out with pancake and coming to makeup from theater and cosplay that was the one I was most comfortable using. It does work OK on me in summer, but in winter it's just too much powder, even applied with a damp sponge. I've never been happy with the color of the MAC (it's NW20 and a tad too yellow). It doesn't really last on me either. In summer especially it's more or less gone by lunch. I recently replaced my Aveda Inner light with Pixie's H20 Skintint and I really like it but it will seek out dry spots on my face and cling.

I just purchased my first RCMA shadows and foundation from Beautylish. I have to admit, I could seriously have used some guidance. Great thread!

RCMA is not a everyday foundation there is a learning curve when it comes to using this foundation (This is a skin process foundation that does not look or behave like a traditional foundation.Please understand most shouldn't jump the gun on this foundation but don't out right dismiss it you will get it.It's really a professional grade foundation hence why people misunderstand it.I use a flat paddle brush with it and RCMA no color is great with it but also can be used alone.If you have acne this may not be the best because you will need the extras to help those areas out.:-)

I agree with Alma about this not being an everyday foundation as the its made with 50% pigment which is far superior to the typical mainstream foundations. A little goes a long, long way and since this is made with vegetable oils and I believe wax this isn't oily girl friendly. My daughter has it in her kit and she tried it on me and it made my skin look smooth as a baby's bottom but after 5 hours of wear I woke up the next morning with two large zits. I hope they come out with eyeshadows because I'm pretty sure the pigmentation would be crazy sick! Another product worth trying out is their No-Color Powder. It does change the color of your foundation and it works great on the super fair skinned without looking super pale.

You said it perfectly Shelley :-) This product is not for everyone skin it's completely best for all to inform themselves before jumping into these types of foundations.I will say I love them and it photographs beautifully and the no powder it's awesome.A baby's butt lol that was funny but so true.

The reason I chose the favorites was it was very reasonably priced (though the pans are tiny, the size of small eye shadows you get a ton of product because you need so little of it) and because I have redness from rosacea and I struggle to cover it, and usually end up with my redness exposed by the end of the day. I will say that the days I've used it with powder my face has stayed covered all day which is practically a miracle for me. I'm willing to go to extra work for that, sod fancy eye looks and what not. Give me flawless skin any day and I'm happy. I've been wondering about the No Color powder. Maybe I will try the smallest size and see if that helps.

Alma: can you say a bit about what a skin process foundation is? I know it's something to do with the product changing as it "cooks" on the skin, but it's all kind of mystical to me.
