MAC studio fix fluid foundation
OR
KatvonD??
I love mac studio fix but, have heard katvonD's foundation is also great... is it worth trying? And would it make my face look cakey?

I've never tried the MAC one but I really disliked the KatVonD one, in my opinion it was very cakey and mask-like, I tried applying it lots of different ways and it never looked flattering. If you can get a sample though, you may like it.

I have not tried MAC Studio Fix, but I have tried Kat Von D and I agree... very thick and cakeyish. Not a fan of the look and feel of it. I recommend getting a sample to try out for yourself.

I think they are both great I love both But The Kat Von D is pretty heavy coverage its best for like summer parties or events because now that its almost winter My face tends to get dry in some areas and you can just see dry patching going on and the Mac one pretty much can be used on a daily basis :)!!

I think almost any foundation can look cakey depending how you apply it. I actually found that the KVD foundation looked amazing when applied with a sponge or when stippled and buffed with a kabuki brush. I haven't tried the Mac one, but I do recommend the KVD one. I have normal to dry skin.

Definitely MAC. It's quite an opaque foundation and can make you look doll-like but on me I never had an issue of it making me look cakey. Just really flawless. I'd always get compliments cause my face looked so smooth with studio fix fluid
