I got some that are kinda nerdy and at my eye doctor they just have a bunch to try on. You could show then a picture of some. Mine I got are Calvin Klein but you could always find some online you like and they can order it for you with your prescription. I've done that before too.

Lol the eye doctor will have all the glasses on display for you to try on. But I'd call them "thick rimmed" glasses.

They will all be on display but I'd just call them nerd glasses or geek glasses. They won't find it weird.

Lol OK thank you ladies I know they have all the glasses on display I was just making sure they may have them I am also wondering how in the world am I going to get used to wearing glasses all the time after 19 years of no glasses? I have a hard time seeing far away and it strains my eyes Even trying to watch TV and also could be why I get headaches.

I found the headaches when I got glasses wasn't a problem for me but everyone's different :) if you don't like glasses then you could always try contacts, I got them after a few years of wearing glasses and I love them!

There are alternatives for buying glasses out there, that really save money compared to buying from your doctor. GlassesUSA or Zenni Optical are two great web sellers that only require you to type in your prescription, and the glasses are made for you and sent to your door within 2 weeks. You can choose from a huge variety, GlassesUSA even carries brand names for less. It's all I buy from these days- I have probably 5 or 6 pair now.

Those look like regular horn-rimmed glasses to me. Just like Buddy Holly wore.

Amy: I am interested in contacts just scared to put them in and take then out especially with pointed nails!
Mitch: thank you I will definitely check those sites out! :)

I don't remember ever getting headaches when I got my glasses. if anything you'll be wondering how you ever did without them! I got contact lenses when I was 13 though and trust me they're nowhere near as terrifying as they seem - it's very difficult to actually hurt yourself, no matter how long your nails are :)

Ask for Ray Bans or look it up on google he has similar designs to those types of glasses.

Just look around, that style is very popular so there'll be many to choose from. I have a pair similar that's Calvin Klein. I never wore glasses regularly until I got these ones a few months back & I didn't have any headache issues.

I personally wouldn't get such thick framed glasses just because you'll have to wear them all the time you may get sick of them once the thick frames goes out of style.
